Doing some maintenance on my CP88, the infamous safety indent ball launched itself into space, never to be found. I miked the hole for the spring (I still have the spring!). Turns out it is 1/8"
Went through my collection of very small screws/bolts and found a very small screw with a somewhat rounded phillips head, the head being just a tad over 1/8" in diameter. Mounted the screw into a Dremel tool and sized it down to 1/8 with a jewellers file, and rounded it a bit to replicate a ball. Then cut off the treaded part with a 32 TPI saw. Fit like a glove, and works fine.

I read that post you deleted and felt that painful and Opps moment!

Glad you are very skillful and fixed it so nicely! Good job! [emoji38]

Heard this tiny ball before... So I avoid doing anything to it on my two CP88~ [emoji38]

And I had something similar before that I dropped the breech screw of my 2240 to the ground when I working on it in the railcar shelter in my job... Very difficult but successfully found it at last~

I lost that small ball bearing one time from a crosman 2240, solution is to use plastic bead from my sister homecraft and it works very well :), you can probably get it from michael's or the dollar store.

I saved lots of small bearings and springs from my old job mostly from printers.
One type of bearing had balls that were a perfect fit for the crosman safety.

I was in a similar predicament a few years ago. If you need a small detent ball, look up sizes of steel shot for shotguns. I just picked up a box of shells the size i needed, opened one at used one ball. You could always ask friends here, or in real life
