Here is a review with some measurements (and scalp shots) : https://www.airgun101.com/airghandi-wor ... and-review
3.87 J = 2.9 ft.lb
118 m/s =387 fps
So not going to be a very hard hitter - but meets the specs. Maybe with some fine tuning you can get 7.5 gr pellets to 400 fps in this one?

According to Diana, 400 fps is possible with lead pellets:

https://www.diana-airguns.de/en/products/break-barrel/detail/diana-p-five

I'm not buying it. I'm guessing 310-320 fps with RWS Hobby pellets. Mine should arrive on Thursday and I'll try to get to the range to measure velocity on the weekend.

Checked again on the website description.... It says 400fps, but max energy is 1.5fpe which just equal to 7g pellet at 300fps... And light weight 5.9g alloy pellets at 400fps still has 2.1fpe...

Not sure if this guy actually shoots like the Buckmark?!?!

no. you can,t compare this to the buckmark. it shoots hard. i have about (hmm lost count--maybe-- at least 15 pistols.) and not one of them can flip this heavier steel target up that i,ve got- the way that it,s supposed to work. buuuut-- this diana p-5 flips them up with ease-- no problem.
New springer dieseling?!

Guys... This p5 do attract me... So I went to the bullseye north website to check it out... And on the description that low max energy number did catch my eyes... Because it's just too low... [emoji38] I usually don't notice those numbers~

Likely tomorrow. Mine shipped yesterday afternoon and I got it this morning.

Diana's website also say the energy is 1.5 ft-lb but I've found a few you-tube videos from Germany where they measure energy closer to 4J, so close to 3 ft-lb.

The gun appears to be a Diana-ized Snowpeak SP500 which is rated at 500 fps in 177 cal.

I bought one, it came with a dieseling issue, super heavy trigger, rear iron sights unable to correct the windage problem at max adjustment.
I chronied the gun with 7th RWS Hobby pellets, it did 420 fps with dieseling.
Here is what I did:
1. Installed a Chinese red dot sight from Alliexpress.
2. Took apart the trigger to bend the sear spring and trigger return spring for lighter trigger.
3. Tightened and locktited the barrel fork pivot screw to prevent it from loosening.
4. Removed the thin trigger engagement screw and replaced with a RC car M3x6 screw and reduced the engagement.
5. Measured the trigger force with digital trigger gauge. It went from factory setting of 6-8 lbs to 1 lb 14 oz.
6. Groups shot went from bigger than 5 inch at 10 yards benched to 1.5 inch.

Pellet speed went down to 395-400 fps with the same 7gr Hobby pellets consistently.

Just for fun, @50 ft benched. All my shots went into a 3 inch stick on shoot and see target. That’s not bad for an $80 pistol.

I am still using the factory open sights, but I removed the screws on the rear sight windage adjustment and used hot glue instead....

Actually one of them loosed and fell out by itself when I tried to adjust it to more than 2 calibrations to the right. So I believe the maximum adjustment on windage will be just 2 lines to the left or right... It has 5 lines on each side tho...

But again, for this price tag, the pistol is very well made as all the parts are precisely fitted, no wobblings, no loosely bad fittings... I like this very much.

After no using the screws, actually the windage adjustment blade fits tightly in the tube. Putting hot gule on both side just to avoid myself push it aside by accident... Image

How's the red dot holding up? I'd like to put one on but am concerned it may not hold. I also have some measurable barrel droop that a red dot may not be able to compensate for.
