Just put it on and try it out~ :)

I think it should be fine as long time ago I put a red dot on my Hatsan Model-25 which had much stronger recoil than this Diana. The red dot was all good but the clamp couldn't hold on the rail and keep moving backwards and the sharp hard metal rail on the action cut into the red dot clamp at the end...

How's the red dot holding up? I'd like to put one on but am concerned it may not hold. I also have some measurable barrel droop that a red dot may not be able to compensate for.
So far so good, I added a M3 set screw to adjust for 1st stage travel, unfortunately, the set screw split the back end of the trigger. I will probably crazy glue it back and tap the hole M3. It did however reduced the trigger release force to now a respectable 1 lb 7 oz. I was able to hit a 1/2” paddle.

Yikes - this shouldn't happen. Did you do what others suggested and just force the set screw into the hole? That method would not be my preferred route especially in plastic material that is thin on the edges. I would suggest using a sharp tap of the right size, lubricate with something like silicone oil for cutting and go slowly and cut a thread into the plastic. Forcing a screw causes the plastic to bulge, inducing large deformations and stress... and cracks. Maybe the metal trigger blade from a Diana Bandit is a drop in for these pistols?

Yes, it was a stupid move on my part, perhaps 4-40 set screw would have been a better choice. Anyhow, I used crazy glue and fixed the crack then tapped the hole in M3, the only problem is now the set screw is a bit loose fitting. I may just use blue loc tote on it if the setting does not hold.

Tapping plastic isn't generally a good idea if you want a tight fitting screw. The threads on taps are slightly larger than the threads on the screw to ensure there is some clearance when the screw goes in. With plastic you don't want any clearance, you want some interference. Also a 4-40 would probably work better in this application. It's slightly smaller diameter than an m3, and has courser, deeper threads which both help hold better in plastic.

I'm not sure if I'm going to do mine. I need to sort out the barrel droop issue first. If I'm stuck with open sights, it doesn't matter how light the trigger is if the sights are just one big black blur.

welcome to the club- p-- there are 10 memberships left to go . my eyes are same. i was going to maybe paint a little glow in the dark paint on the front sight. but instead i took the reflex sight off of my beeman p-17 and put it on the diana. i didn,t even have to sight it in-- it was shooting great. i was thinking of making a stock for it too--but not sure yet. the reason i bought it was too have a good break barrel pistol.

I think 22 cal could be too slow.... It has good power but not as big as the beast like HW45 which'has to be' 'detuned' to 22 cal (in Canada)~ [emoji38]

400 ish is good for 177 IMO...

In my mind this Diana is very similar like the P17 which is good and cheap and you won't be guilty putting your hands on it to do anything~ and more further, springer feels better when shooting than the SSP with the recoils~

Be careful of the pistol if you make the sear return spring too light. I had a pellet in my wall to prove it.[emoji30]

I just happened to pass through London today,so I thought I’d drop into bullseye and join the club, lol.
Got it home and cleaned out the barrel, it was really gucked up, took about a dozen patches to clean it up.
I used some RWS R10 match 8.2g pellets to run through the chrony. My first 10 shoots were quite high,
Due to dieseling. So I ran about 50 shots or so through it till the smoke stopped and this is what I got:
406
414.6
408.8
407.9
413.7
402.8
409.3
408.7
407.1
398.5
Not bad results,it may still calm down a bit more.
The trigger does need some attention.

I don’t like the iron sights on it,so I put a red dot on it and it’s not moving so far.Even with those spring loaded adapters.
While I was at bullseye I also got a wicked deal on a True glow 2x42 red dot for $38.50 reg. $109

I also ordered one a couple of days ago. Not sure what I'm going to put it on, but I'll find a home for it.

wow didd (welcome to the club --lol.)-- thats a nice little red dot scope-- and a great deal. i see on there website--that they also have the true glo reflex sight for only $21.00. i wish i lived near them i would grab 3 or 4 of these. if you order one from them online with shipping and taxes it would come close to $35.00 bucks. still not bad -- but being able to just go in and buy one would be a lot cheaper.

Managed to get out to the range today and got some numbers, after I had put enough pellets through to get pas the dieseling. Some of my early shots were well into the 500's.
