Hi all, we are counting down to the 2023 FT Nationals September 16th and 17th. Below are details about the match including a registration link.

Updates:

1. Deadline for t-shirt orders has moved up to August 28th! If you would like one get your registration and payment by next Tuesday!
2. The venue is confirmed, it will be at HAHA, Hamilton Angling and Hunting Association. Address details to follow for those the register.
3. There is no camping at the HAHA location. There are local parks in the area that may be available.

Register and pay as soon as you can using this registration link - https://www.tfaforms.com/5079961

Additional important things to know:

1. The match will be shot according to the CAFTA rules, which may be viewed here https://www.fieldtargetcanada.ca/index.php/ft-rules-and-classes/
2. We are doing the traditional smorgasbord prize table. For those that haven't had the experience names are drawn from a hat! Meaning, if you pay by Sept 4th and show up you can walk away with some great prizes!
3. Entry Fee is $80 for two days of shooting.
4. T-shirts for the event are available for $32-$38
5. We have our very own Rob G doing up some fine, mouth watering pulled pork as part of a Saturday BBQ. Coming join us for some great food and all the fixings. Fee $10.
6. Please send the registration fee before September 4th to be eligible for the prize draw after the match.
7. For those interested, the HAHA kitchen is open for Sunday breakfast on a pay as you go basis. Reasonable prices and good food!
8. The sight in range will be open Saturday and Sunday mornings.
9. No shooting on the FT course on Friday.
10. Timers are used and you’ll have 7 minutes per lane per shooter. The 7 minutes breaks down as 60 seconds of ‘preparation time’ i.e., when your bum hits the bag, or you shoulder your rifle for standing shots or kneel down for kneeling shots, plus 60 seconds for each target.
11. A maximum 20 ft/lb limit with the pellet you are using will be enforced in Open and Hunter Divisions
12. A maximum 12 ft/lb limit with the pellet you are using will be enforced in WFTF Divisions
13. The Open Modified class used at the clubs will be used in place of Open, similar to club shoots there will be no positional lanes and you may used any seat within the CAFTA rules for seats.
14. The Marshalling course will be offered Friday, tentatively 2:30 PM. More details to follow for those that are interested.
15. The Match Director is Jeff Hemming and the Chief Marshal is Joel Goodwin.

In case you missed it at the top, here is the registration form- https://www.tfaforms.com/5079961. Please register and pay as soon as you can so that we can get the t-shirt order in and, definitely, by September 4th to be eligible for the prize table!

Please direct any questions to ftcanada@bell.net and we looking forward to seeing you at the 2023 FT Nationals!

Hey everyone, only 15 more sleeps until the Nationals! (14 if you are coming to help set up or for the Marshall course).

There is still time to sign up if you have not already.

I look forward to seeing many of you there!
Rob

Looking amazing Rob!

Nothing like a great lunch to take the sting out of a yanked shot or two.

Here is the match agenda -

Saturday, September 16th
• Gates open at 8:00AM and the sight in range will open at 9:00 AM
• All guns MUST BE chronographed at the chronograph station in the pistol range. Failure to pass
chronograph or to submit your rifle for testing stops you from shooting the session.
• If you did not register Friday, register / t-shirt pickup (at Clubhouse) for the match before 9:30 AM
• Shooters meeting at 10:30 AM
• Match starts by 11:00 AM
• Shooters will complete ten lanes, three targets per lane and two shots per target (60 shots)
• There is one designated filling table at the end of the shooting line
• Scores for the day will be tallied and posted after the final shooter finishes
• Pull pork lunch provided under the awning by the shot gun range.

Sunday, August 12th
• Gates open at 8:00AM and the sight in range will open at 9:00 AM
• All guns MUST BE chronographed at the chronograph station in the pistol range. Failure to pass
chronograph or to submit your rifle for testing stops you from shooting the session.
• Shooters meeting at 9:45 AM
• Match starts at 10:00 AM
• Shooters will complete ten lanes, three targets per lane and two shots per target (60 shots)
• There is one designated filling table at the end of the shooting line
• Scores for the day will be tallied and if necessary, shoot offs will be held to determine the winners of each
division/class
• Results we announced following shoot offs
• The prize table will be run after awards

Additional details about the Marshals course, registration and match are in the email that has gone up to all those that registered.

If anyone is curious to see the match, feel free to swing by and check out the action.

Look forward to seeing everyone and creating some new stories!!

For anyone attending from Eastern Ontario it seems all lanes are supposed to be closed on the 401 around Ajax from Sept 11-15. You might want to investigate further and plan for it. Details seem to be slim right now.
