Looking good. A short scope is necessary with the loading port. I would not be able to load your rifle, with my thumbs and with the sun shade in place.

I have a TX200 and was also concerned about the scope interfering with loading, so before I bought a scope, I mounted an old scope and tried to make it as bad as possible with the bell and sun shade right over the port.... No problem, I never watch the pellet go into the breach and my thumb and index finger come from the side.
With a bit of practice, the motion becomes automatic. No scope vs. loading port conflict.

that's right Daryl that's why i have the shorter one on there, due to loading port
even though I'm a sucker for long scopes love the look of them on a rifle.... 8)

I like long scopes as well, but had to go to the 3-12X Leapers on both my 97's.
Long scopes, short scopes.

I don't like short scopes because that thick black circle on the sight picture always annoying me...

Anyway I have a "normal" length scope on my 97... Just measured the total length is about 13 1/2 inches, a 4-16x42 Discovery older model. Image
