The plate seems to have a zinc coating. Pellets will stick to clear zinc coating. They stick to the swingers I made and had clear zinc coated. A quick squirt of WD40 or spray paint will stop this from happening if it bothers you.

Empirical evidence. Nice.
Others have had pellets stick to all sorts of stuff.

In the pellet trap, they seem really stuck, as in, I can't pry them off.

Luckily, with paper punching, you typically go for the bull, so the cluster of led in the middle takes out some of the resonance of the pellet hit. lol.

Not a bother at all, it's a fun way to make abstract fishing lures. haha.

The WD40 or paint does make sense.

TY.

Had similar problem and read somewhere to lube the surface. It works for a bit.

Princess auto has steel plate on sale. I bought some 12x12 plate in 1/4 and 3/16.
Home depot ,CTC and other hardware stores sell steel plate but usually only to 16 gauge.

Thanks for the tip! :D
Just bought a 24x24x1/4 plate from them - home delivery is only ~$12..Purolator (same/cheaper than CPC post office pickup!)
If/when I get off my *ss I'll grab some 3" SCH40 steel pipe (Andrew Sheret or..)
The "snail shell" trap design looks pretty interesting ..will have to dust off the plasma cutter & welder

Made a tater-tot extruder today ..McCain's tots suck!
