Buying the gun is easier than getting the ammo. Canadian supply for slugs is very limited to 3 stores with AGS having the largest selection but mostly out of stock. I ordered today from a US supplier on ebay $.79 each for 280gr and $.94 each for 360gr in C$. Shipping seems to be flat rate of $9 per order and is included in my above cost. Unfortunately they are being delivered to my US address so there will be an added expense to retrieve. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/314237375229?var=613338502487

I needed/wanted a new double cavity 'mould' for my .50/95 model 1876 Winchester, so I contacted Accurate Bullet Moulds & had them bu8ild me a DC mould in brass blocks
to cast a .515", 377gr. bullet with one large square grease groove. The normal mould of this size, casts a 377gr. .510" bullet.
https://www.accuratemolds.com/
My mould blocks, sprayed with Lyman's Bullet coating Moly for example. IIRC about $160.00 cdn. Lyman #510

NOE makes this bullet in .510", 391gr.
https://noebulletmolds.com/site/510-380 ... at-plains/

Buffalo Arms makes this mould, a 350gr. .510"., but it's $195.00 US.
https://www.buffaloarms.com/510-350-gra ... 10350.html

I have the Lyman #515139 that I don't need any more. I would be willing to sell it for $75.00 + mailing.
It casts a 370gr. FN bullet, but would be .003 to .005 over .510" in pure lead & would need sizing.

I can't see myself casting slugs after receiving my order. I received my slug order on Saturday. The slug order off of eBay came from https://www.proslugs.com/ and the Umarex slugs came from https://www.airgunsource.ca/us/

Umarex slugs 350gr on average are 5.5 gr over with a total of 1.3gr in variance. I expected the cast slugs to have a bigger variance in weight.

Pro slugs 280gr on average are .4gr under and a total variance of .5gr. The finish on the pro slugs is exceptional and they came vacuum packed

Pro slugs 360gr on average are .6 gr under and a total variance 0f .8gr

If I Hog hunt 2 days per year and deer hunt one season with site in each day, that puts my yearly slug use at 25 slugs per year. With 300 slugs on the shelf I am set for a while.

What rifle are these for, Robert? Umarex Hammer?
The swaged slugs should have less variation than cast, that's for sure, but I can usually keep mine to 1gr.
I've been casting a lot of balls and bullets, since 1972. I even used cast bullets for a short while for 3-position shooting in both .358" and .375".
For 1,000meter shooting, I weigh them out to 1/2 gr. variation maximum.
some .458's & .574" balls.
