I have a non-blowback CO2 gun Gamo P320.
Now I want something more realistic, with blowback and so on.

Would you recommend Sig Sauer X-Five ASP or Glock 19X?

Now I am more in favour of the Sig Sauer because it is full metal and heavy; does it mean it is more realistic? Again, what I need is an airgun that looks and feels like a real gun. Which one would you choose?

Thank you!

Either one of those two pistols would fit the bill. My grandson has the Glock, and I have the Sig, and they are both very realistic.

Just have to ask, are those replicas of firearms (ie: regulated firearms)?

LOL~ good question! Of course IMO they are. Just have no idea what our leaders want to do at the moment... Just buy them if they are still available and you want it.

I will more prefer the SIG X Five.

They are both very realistic. Just as the real steel, the Glock ran into polymer jackets for some time, and less recoils then easier to use vs the old school pistols.... "unfortunately", their replica BB guns just copied these "features" too... So I still love my 1911 much more than my Clock17... And compare to the two choices above, I will definitely go for the X Five, not the rubbermaid Glock.

(If buying a real one with my RPAL, if I still could, I will buy the Glock for sure~ :) )

My X-Five....

Thank you!

Which one has a stronger recoil? this is not the only thing that makes an airgun "realistic", but still...

What other criteria make an airgun realistic? Weight? Material? Recoil?

You are welcome! Once and still I am a replicas fan just buying less than before... :)

To me actually those which going to cost you 200 bucks or more are all very realistic.

Recoils on a replica will never get match to the real steels... They are GBB... Gas powered recoil... Not powder burning powered recoil... But stronger recoil always make you happier~ [emoji38]

And a replica with a heavy metal slide and uses (wastes :) )more gas to push backward the slide will give you stronger recoil feelings for sure.

And the longer of the distance the slide needs to travel also gives you better recoils...

Again, replica just a toy thing (it do make damage to your body if you don't follow safety rules tho), so even it's a full metal replica, the metal is still some kind of pot metal and usually very soon it can be "weathered"~ [emoji38] however the manufactures still able to make the gun weights very similar to what it copied from~ So usually I won't worry about the weight... But anyway, I like the cold full metal touch much better~ [emoji38]

My two DE....

Yes, those certainly look good. The DE is really nice.
I want one, but in 50 AE. Sadly, not going to happen until perhaps, after 2025.

Another question. I have been reading reviews recently, and there are frequent complaints that the X-Five often jams. I understand that all guns jam from, time to time; however, I don't seem to have that problem with my Gamo P430, I've had it two or three times maybe, and with pellets only, not with BBs (that gun shoots both pellets and BBs).

Do you think jamming is a problem for those two guns?

Actually I am more like a collector than a shooter. However I have no jamming experience on my X-Five. And I don't have a Glock19 but a Glock17 which I haven't jammed once so far either...

When I first bought my X5 I had a bit of jamming, then found that the problem could be resolved by ensuring the magazine was well lubricated with silicon oil (treadmill oil), and that the pellets were inserted completely in their individual holes in the mag. The other thing I discovered is that the gun is a bit picky when it comes to pellets. I found that mine likes wad cutters much better that pointed ones. I have not had a jam up for a long time, but I still carry an old bicycle spoke just in case. A simple poke down the barrel to re-seat the pellet back into the belt is all it takes.

Does the Sig Sauer X-Five shoot pellets only?
One popular web store says that it shoots both BBs and pellets. Is that true?

I have no expectations on the replicas accuracy, so my X-Five And the Glock17 both shoot BBs only. :)

I suppose it could, but I have not tried it. I find the X5 is a fairly accurate gun, for a replica. What throws it off is the trigger pull, which is long and hard due to the fact that it is forwarding the belt clip as well as moving the trigger mechanism. Its a nice gun. I got mine in satin silver, but soon took it apart and rattle canned it gloss black. I would have bought black if it had been available at the time.
