Hello fellow airheads, I’m experiencing something weird with my HUMA regulator. It’s setup at 1600 PSI in my .22 Marauder. The rifle is also equipped with a spring stopping guide. I’ve recently disassembled it for cleanup and the gun is holding air, the regulator gauge shows 1600 PSI as it should. Upon measuring the speed with my chrony, I’m getting 3-4 shots with very low spread (877, 874, 875, 876) then for some reason it dips down to 844-846 for 2-3 shots, and comes back up at 875 for the 3 following shots. I’ve shot 4 strings now and all 4 show a similar pattern. The regulator gauge shows 1600 throughout all the shots. Pretty much at a loss here. Does anyone have an explanation for this, and possibly a fix ? This behaviour wasn’t there before disassembly, and I haven’t touched the regulator body (only switched the o-ring).

Only thing I can suggest is waiting an exact specified time between shots, like 30 seconds, 1 or 2 minutes.

Seems the problem was with the hammer spring, as I swapped it for a slightly shorter and stiffer one and the shots are now consistent across 4 strings. PCPs do work in mysterious ways…
