Hello to all, thanks for the inclusion!

New member, just checking in from Green Lake BC, in the South Cariboo region.

I am in the market for a CZ pcp .22, for small game in season, and pests around the property.
15 years ago I bought a CZ 200s, because of major heart surggery, and my Doctor forbid me from shooting my rifles, even rimfire.
So I the only way I could go recoil-less was with pcp, while I recovered.
Over the years, the CZ has been phenomenal. It is a stupidly accurate piece and so much fun to use. I refill from a SCUBA tank.

Now retired in a very rural area, I need some pest control and perhaps the odd grouse or 2 in hunting season.
I have several rimfire rifles, but need something I can use around my property.

Is the .22 CZ in at 800fps enough gun for grouse or marmot/skunk sized critters?

Thanks all!

Welcome to the forum. A good place to "be".
As to the rifle, 800fps is just fine for bunnies (head shots) or grouse, but a bit light for marmots, skunks, etc.imho
I would suggest a .25 at 800fps to 1,000fps is still a bit light for the rock chucks. They are tough. Now, with strictly
head shots, both would work reasonably well. It all comes down to not taking body shots at all.
Slugs can change this, due to better penetration and expansion, however, not all air rifles will deliver the accuracy needed, with slugs.
