Southern Ontario has had a very warm winter so far. Today I had to watch my granddaughter. I took out to see great grampa and she was picking fresh blooming dandelions in his yard at 7°C.

Here in the lower mainland of BC we had close to or record lows 2 weeks ago, -14C a couple nights, I think. I tented in the yard, practice for snow camping. It was -12 but only got to -8 or so in the tent. Gear worked great, was plenty warm, slept well.

There’s been some atmospheric rivers this week, maybe straight out of Hawaii, highs of 14 a couple days. I’ve had lots of good running in between, snow runs and a very wet one, also fun

Pineapple Express in coming to the lower states.

It’s been a very strange winter, trees here in southern Ontario are already budding. In all my years I’ve never seen such a winter. Biblical times.

It has been a warm winter here as well.....We desperately need either the runoff from the snow pack in the mountains or a lot of rain, something not seen in a few years.

So far this winter's been very kind. We did get some snow but it all cleared very quickly.

I hope that's the end of it. I hate snow.

Yeah, I was on trails here yesterday, 14.5km. Trails notably dry for this time of year. We’ll see.

But it has been a forgiving fall and winter here, I’ve had time to enjoy it. Mild and beautiful.
