Hello Canadian Airgun Forum members,

I need help.
I have a Gamo Varmint. Recently it stopped cocking.
I took it apart to find a broken part located between the trigger mechanism and the main spring/coil.
It is a plastic pipe: 1 inch long, outside diameter ¾ inch, inside diameter ½ inch. See attached pictures (I have more if useful).
It looks like it shattered.
Two questions:
- how can that piece be shattered like that ? is it a serious defect with the gun ?
- where can I find a replacement ?

A third question, what is it called ? I could not find an exploded view of the gun.

Thanks for any help.

^^^^ what he said.

Yes. it is a serious defect if under warranty and you are good at getting blood out of stone, contact your vendor.

Gravel Agency may be able to help. I think the Varmint is similar to Crosmans of the B18 variety.

It looks to me to be the bushing SG052. You may need to dig a bit deeper since the exploded view I found doesn't have the identical spacer. If you can find a piece of steel or aluminum pipe the right size it would be better than buying a plastic replacement.

F_B, I believe this is the parts diagram, as it shows the trigger on your gun.https://www.airgunspares.com/gunspares/airgun-spares/gamo/air-rifles/v/varmint-hunter-new.html Your broken part is not shown.

I think it is just a spacer to bring up velocity by putting additional load on the spring. A new spacer made out of Aluminum should get you back up and shooting

Was this broken spacer an original Gamo part or an aftermarket power booster?
Are you the original owner?

Good morning all,

Thank you to Notec, Dukemeister, McRobert, Tcooper for taking the time to answer me.
You gave me enough info to go on.
More or less, it is some kind of spacer that can be replace by an equivalent in size, shape and strength.
Thanks again. I will be back.
Have a good day,

If it's just a tube profile then I would make one out of nylon or delrin. Preferably nylon in this case with its higher strength. Boring centers besides standard drill sizes is tricky for me. That looks like a very brittle material that was used. Are you in the Toronto area?

Perhaps there's a vendor that sells an "upgrade" to that part?
