What is the best place to get TX200 parts in Canada?
The piston bearings in my TX appear worn out and I am seeing metal-on-metal wear marks. The rear bearing is highly scored and does not appear to be doing its job.
I can find these parts listed at Pyramid Air but $20 worth of parts incur a $10 handling fee and $25 of shipping (all prices in USD) for something that weighs less than the shipping envelope!
Does anyone have a spare rear bearing that they can part with?
Thanks,
Rob27

If you are speaking of TX200 seals, D&L can provide them here in Canada.

If yer lucky, ya learn something new every day! Today I'm lucky... so it turns out the TX200 piston has a ring bushing front and back. Here is a couple pics. It seems like a simple piece, easy to machine out of Delrin or similar slippery material, maybe even could be 3D printed in ABS or Nylon (wouldn't wear as well as monolithic, but may last for a FT match).

Hmmm, you got me thinking Duke....
A quick search shows a supplier in Toronto that sells sheets of Delrin starting at about $20 CDN.
If I were to be able to get close to the right thickness, then cut a reasonably round chunk of this and drill out the center I might have a local solution.
Thanks for the idea!

Have you tried AGS. Travis is the AA guy for Canada and often has parts on hand.

Well, goes to prove a guy never gets too old to learn something new!

Well, as I was taking this gun apart and putting it together again several times I hit a problem that I previously encountered.
When I tried to remove the stock screw from the front of the trigger, it did not come out - instead it rotated the trigger block retaining bolt that it is threaded into. So instead of removing the stock screw, it removed the trigger block bolt from the action - this did free the action from the stock, but also allowed the trigger block to slide back driven by the spring... and now the trigger screw was still in the stock and the trigger block retaining bolt was stuck to it inside the channel of the stock.
I tried many things to get it to release, eventually resorted to grabbing the threaded end of the retaining bolt in a pair of vice grips (wincing as I type this) and was able to unscrew the stock screw. I did a fair bit of damage to the threads even though I padded them.
Now I need to add the trigger block retaining bolt to my list of needed parts!

Anyone else ever have this problem trying to remove the stock bolt from a TX200?

Thanks,
Rob27

No, never managed to have one get to this condition. If the trigger retaining screw (Item 51 TX410) comes out of the trigger block (Item 31 TX365) that easily, then the female threads in the trigger block are very likely pooched as well so this will continue to occur and the trigger block may not be able to be held in position properly any longer. This means you had best be ordering a new trigger block as well as the trigger block retaining screw. AND since you are ordering both these parts, a new SHCS (Item 55 TX440) would be highly recommended too.

If you ever have to remove a threaded object such as this again, heavy leather padding would be an absolute minimum, possibly including dremel grinding the vice grip metal pads to conform closely to the thread OD to maximize grip area and distribute the load to protect the treads. Another option might be threadlocking a nut on (and removing with heat afterwards), or double nutting then holding with a proper fitting thin wrench.

You also mentioned that there is metal on metal wear in the piston assembly. Any metal wear in there means the seal will no longer work properly either even with new seals and bearings, so worn parts such as the compression tube and potentially the piston will need replacing as well.

Hi Rob,
TW Chambers in the UK is where I would go to get them. I would order the front and rear as a set and order two of each. The shipping included price is shown in the attached image.
Cheers,

If you know the specs, maybe you can try https://www.mcmaster.com/products/o-rings/o-rings-1~/

That’s what I was thinking of suggesting. Possibly a urethane o-ring would hold up. BSA once used o-rings as piston seals on springer rifles and pistols. Some guys in the USA were using urethane o-rings on high powered springers such as HW95. Try some of your local hydraulics shops for various o-rings.

One thing you don't want to use is an O-ring. This part is a bearing not a seal and you need to avoid adding any friction to it. I should fit loose and slippery inside the tube. Something hard and polar is best.
