Port Colborne match report April 27, 2024
By Rob Wright, Match Director
It was great to get back into the woods at Port Colborne! A big Thank You to Port Colborne & District Conservation Club for the use of this fine facility.
To all of you that braved the weather and attended - that arrived early, helped set up and take down – Thank You!
We had great weather for a few days before the match, but the forecast for the weekend was not encouraging. Unfortunately the weather man was correct this time and it started raining Saturday morning and continued off and on through the day.
We had 13 shooters brave the weather and get out onto the course. We set this up a bit shorter than usual but there were still a few challenging targets out there.
Before the start of the match I announced that I was going to have an additional division in this match. We have lately had an Open Modified Division where the only difference from the Open Division has been that we eliminated the forced kneeling and standing position lanes and just shot them as seated. For this match we had both an Open Division as well as an Open Modified. Since we did not have many shooters this broke up the numbers a bit more, but allowed the shooters who wanted to shoot the positional lanes to do so.
The Course Marshalls for this match were Marc S. and Jeff H – thanks very much!
This was the first match in several years where we have had an international participant (although his drive from Buffalo was shorter than several of the Canadians). Thanks John for joining us and we look forward to seeing you again at future matches.
A few shooters had great days, myself - not so much!
The results:
Hunter PCP:
Tony L 113 / 120
Marc S 108
Ted M 102
Tom K 100
Hunter Piston:
