So I am down to purchase a new PCP. I was set on a Dreamline Classic but now see AGS has Avenger (not X) in stock and am second guessing the spend on the FX.

I want a .22, will only be shooting pellets, no plan for slugs.
It will be shot off bench 100% and I have 200m to play with. I have played with a Dream-Tac Compact and it is a fine rifle for sure but is it worth 3x the money as an Avenger?

Anyone who's had hands on both please share you experience. Experience is telling me save for the FX but I can't help but wonder if I'd be satisfied with the cheaper rifle.

In .25's, I have a Dreamline Classic,, AirForce Condor, Aselkon Mx9 & an Armetis M11.
In .22's, I have a Gauntlet on Co2 and a Brocock Concept Single Shot.
I no longer shoot either .22, nor the Armetis and the Aselkon not much.
The FX is for shooting to 80 yards and the Condor is for longer ranges.
I also have a springer HW97 in .22 and love it. Selling the thumbhole HW97 in .177
to a local guy if he still wants it. It's a wonderfully accurate shooter.

Hey Daryl, good to hear you are taking that Dreamline out to 80yrds.
With my buddy's Dream-Tac we were getting solid hits at 150yrd on 6" plate.

Had the Avenger not come back in stock I would be set on the Dreamline. But, I do have a powder burners I shoot so not solely airgunning.
Right now I only have my CZ200S for air but I don't shoot it much as it doesn't have a lot of reach and I get kinda bored with it.

Interesting. While I like shooting the air rifles, I still have .22's and other powder burners, up to .50 cal. in an 1876 Winchester
and muzzleloaders up to a .69 cal. rifle (14 gauge).
However - air rifles and pistols have their place.
I REALLY like the Dreamline with the 6-24X50 Optisan Scope. It's a lot more scope than needed, of course. The Condor likes 200fps higher vel.
than the Dreamline with the Hades pellets so that's the one that gets the longer range use. The Condor is doing well to 118yards, the longest
range I've used it on, to date.
This Sunday, both guns will get a wringing out to that range again. Hope it isn't too windy.
I see you have some experience with Dreamline rifles. The only reason I would get the .22 Cal. is that calibre seems to shoot some slugs very
well from the pellet liner.

Well I am no closer deciding between the Dreamline or Avenger.
.22 I am solid on for two reasons. One, pellet availability over other calibers seems to be the norm.
And two, cost per shot. Looking at .25, .30 or slugs I am into rimfire prices. The idea behind grabbing another pcp is a bit of a long term savings on ammo.

Since I am thinking long term I lean towards the FX because I don't really see much in the way of parts support for the Avenger, lots of mods but less so replacements for wear and tear.
The Avenger I almost see as a disposable rifle once it wears out where as I feel (hope) the FX can be rebuilt and last for many years.

Well AGS made the decision for me when the Dreamline price dropped $200.
So order is in and I'll post up how she shoots when I have it set up and dialed.

Cool! - I think you made a wise decision. I kinda wish I hadn't bought the Aselkon
MX9 and Artemis M11, both in .25 now that I have the FX and Condor in .25. both
liking the JSB Hades pellet.

Had to re-sight my FX Dreamline after turning it back up to full power. The target was only 50', or 16.7 yards/15.24 meters.
These are 3-shot groups, shot off a bipod, no rear bag and quite rapid fire. These things just shoot.
Shot with Hades pellets at 26.54gr. A pleasant surprise was that 26.8gr. NSA slugs shot well too and I need to re-test them at longer range.
Note, the centre dot is 1/4" = .250".

I'm glad you went the FX route. I know you will not be disappointed.
Currently running almost top hammer spring and 135(ish) on the regulator.

Me too, and no buyers remorse so I'm comfortable with my decision.
I know I said I wasn't planning on shooting slugs but I ordered some of them too.

Just now reading up about a fix FX sent out regarding barrel droop. I assume mine will be fitted with this extra sleeve over shroud. If not I guess a barrel band is a good solution?

edit, looks like yours has it on there Daryl. Did you have to contact FX after sale or was it included on the rifle?

Forum member ineedpal makes a snug fitting barrel band for the Dreamline.
I have one of his bands on the gun now and like it. It needs to be VERY tight
on the air tube so it doesn't twist if bumped but not necessarily tight on the
barrel itself, however mine is quite snug.
I had 2 on it, but took one off for testing.
Currently set at 43fpe. 854fps with 26.54gr. Hades.
