Looks like you thought of everything, Tom. Nice project that will certainly make things easier on the courses. Nice thing is that with muzzle down, you will be able to take the gun off the cart safely and get to your spot on the line before pointing down range. Great job!

Do you have velcro on the bottom of your pellet tins? That would insure they do not vibrate out on a rough path.
Thanks Tim, great idea, I will give that a try!

Looks awesome Tom.
One suggestion is that you may want to add some type of cover or shield between the front tire and the valve on your bottle.
I used to have a 3 wheel golf cart and the front wheel used to throw a lot of water up onto the bottom of the golf bag when it was wet out.

Thanks Rob, I will look into that idea!

For shooting FT match at HAHA, most of us carry our guns in rifle cases moving from lane to lane, because we are shooting at a rifle range where the lanes are closely packed together.

This type of gun cart is used in forest matches such as at Grenville and Port Colborne, where you must carry your gun and bottle for long walks in the woods.

Welcome to FT!

I put lids on the pellet tins and raised the lower air bottle basket also flipped the valve towards the back to avoid contamination from road debris. This should address the issues raised by Tim and Rob.
Thanks guys!Image

I think break Barrel, Pump, and PCP with big tanks which have enough air (like my FX-although confirmed not able to use as .25cal, and artimes m16A bottle version for the whole match are not really need it unless you are carrying more than one rifle--even that you can sling carry one and handle another, not a big deal.

Anyway good job

The most popular air guns at the matches are: AA TX200, HW97, HW100, AA S510, Daystate Redwolf, etc. With a decent scope and rings, you are looking at 11 to 12 lbs if not more. A typical woods course you are looking at walking with your rifle, bottle, cushion/seat, shooting stick for maybe two thousand steps. For me, that is getting more difficult to do as I am getting older. Once you do a few matches, I think you will agree with me such a gun cart is very helpful.

Thanks

You know Tom, it would have been a lot easier to just leave the seat in the cart and hitched it to the back of Chris's chair. You could have sat in the cart and held your gun and been towed around the course. The only downside is having to shoot with Chris :D

I am tinkering about this cart for years, have seen a lot @ US ranges.
The issue that is holding me back building one is - my gun club rules ... unpacking guns at the bench only muzzle facing to target ... but I would build one for my airtank only and toss the cart below the bench.
Hard to fit these in SUV trunk ... imagine my bench when I unpack and ready to work :)

Hi Rob,

You know I love to shoot with Chris, but he prefers new shooters over me. His wheelchair for the woods course is the one with tracks, while I admire riding on a tank like a soldier, I am afraid my weight plus his and our gear would overload the poor thing. Best to fend for myself like it is now! [emoji12]
