Just got a new QB78 from my girlfriend for Christmas.
Very nice rifle, quite a bit nicer than I'm used to for the price.
First impressions:
I couldn't understand why people say it needs work. Mine was very clean, with only the butt pad slightly off center, but I can fix that.
Realized right away that you can't open the piercing cap if there's pressure in it. That's when I decided to read the manual. Also noticed that in the manual that it's quite easy to adjust the trigger. Maybe too easy though because I played with it a bit and right now it's at the point that a stiff breeze would st it off.
First 50 shots:
Lined up a few paper targets about 10 yards from a bench and I was able to put 5 shots in a small ragged hole every time. Much better than my 2240 which even with a 24" barrel is pretty rough on the accuracy.
I definitely need a set of better scope mounts. My 4x20 sits off to the left and I'm sure it's not very reliable that way.
All in all, I am very impressed with this rifle. I think I'll be buying a few mods for it in the next few months. I definitely need to bottle feed it and maybe do some valve work. I'll be bugging you guys for advice on that for sure...
Cheers!
