Interesting story. There are similarities to real guns where just a few abuse them and every conscientious user pays the price with stricter laws.

It amazes me that such good replicas, mainly of the C02 type either Pellet, BB, or Airsoft are allowed
in Canada, still? The shooting aspect is really not a big deal but they sure would fool 99% of the public as
to being real powder burners!

Why is the Russian murder rate double that of the United States when they have stricter gun control and less people living in poverty?

It's just another example that it is culture which drives the murder rate, not the tools used to commit the crime.

Judging by YouTube videos, it seems to me that the majority of the russian population is totally pickled at any given time. I'm guessing that most of the mishaps are a result of poor judgement. If they banned vodka, I'm sure things would improve......after the riots subsided.

Interesting indeed. . . . . Re-licencing, and ammo prohibition . . . To me, this was the most troubling:

". . . a group of Kemerovo region legislators proposed last week to expand the usage of air guns, issuing them to ambulance workers who, deputies said, often have to fend off attacks on the road. . . ."

First aid has to frequently fend off attack??/ . . Wow. . . And wouldn't tazers be more appropriate? Craaazy either way . . .

Watch Sergei Baklikov on Real Russia - also Utube - English language. Very entertaining, he presents videos of every day life in Russia. His blogs may provide a more balanced understanding of that country, outside of the regular propaganda broadcast by East and West.

Sounds just like what the current administration is trying here. Look at Toronto can't buy guns or ammo downtown.
