I was very pleased to find a .22lr cartridge recently that consistently shoots sub 1 MOA at 25, 50 and 75 yards.
As happy as that made me it also bummed me out that my air rifles aren't half that accurate. I guess I'm more obsessed with the accuracy of my guns and ammo while using benchrest aids than I am with my ability to hold a rifle steady at my age. I also couldn't care less if the stock was an untreated 2X4.
Well life is getting shorter all the time and I'm determined to buy the most accurate sporter in .22 or .25 cal. I can get.
I like the FX line but don't like the idea of filling to 250 bar. Other rifles I've looked at are the Air Arms S510s, the Weihrouch HW100s and the new Walther MazimaThor. I might have to scratch off that silly name though lol. It does have more power than the others though and that's my #2 wish since I'd love to get involved in 100 yard benchrest competition now that I have time to travel. I know I will have to test every decent pellet on the market.
Any preferences?

Rapid Air Weapons? They have a very good reputation and I am anxiously awaiting my HM1000 in .22.

That Walther, although weirdly named, has some pretty impressive specs (e.g., 100 - 1000 fps shots per fill for .22 cal). Unfortunately, it does not appear to be available in Canada.

The RAW HM1000 is an awesome piece of equipment. I first saw the brand at the Guns of Arizona site in their Extreme Benchrest competitions.
I thought the Walther MazimaThor was the gun I was going to buy since it had all the qualities I was looking for but it's not sold in Canada. It seems to me the common denominator like the two mentioned above and so many other accurate guns is the LW barrel.

I really like the Air Arms, but a Marauder can be very accurate and much cheaper. The Mrod is more of a gamble in accuracy since the barrels aren't as good, but they can be extremely accurate. Mine was very accurate at longer ranges using JSB 18gr, I can't give you exact numbers since I rarely shot targets but it was close to moa at ~60M. I didn't mod the gun for accuracy at all, just shot count so that was out of the box. One thing I like aside from the Mrod price is you can get a tank extension. Not sure why they all insist on small tanks but at least you can extend this one. They also sell shroud extensions with more baffles, not much use in CA but fyi. I would imagine someone offers a Lothar barrel cut to fit an Mrod?
My friend has an AA S510 with a walnut stock (drool) but for the price and shot count I chose the Mrod. Plus I'd die if I scratched an AA or got it confiscated, so basically I wouldn't be able to use it much.
That 100 shot Walther seems like a stretch, maybe it technically did but that 100th shot was 50fps, but it was probably with it's lowest setting. I dunno, just guessing which is all we can do until someone gets one. I'm sure resident pcp guru rsterne can give us a realistic shot count per power level based on the tank size.
