I took advantage of a Boxing Week sale at Nordic Marksman, to buy 10,000 pellets... Qiang Yang "Match Grade". The price was good (but not great) but a little less than what I was currently paying for H&N Finale Match Heavy or JSB Match Diabolo.

Both their website and the order confirmation said "Match Grade".

The order just came in, and the pellets are "Training Grade". I've emailed them, but so far they haven't replied.

The price that these were is HIGHER than I would usually pay for what I call training grade pellets such as RWS Hobby, Meisterkugeln, RWS Basics or H&N Match.

Qiang Yang makes three qualities of pellet... Training, Match and Olympic. This could be an honest mistake, but geez, with both the website and order confirmation saying "Match Grade", I'm really bummed out about receiving "Training Grade" instead. Their website doesn't even mention training grade as being available. I would never have paid this much for training pellets (or have bought as many).

What do you think I should do?

With the given circumstances I would want my money back or a reasonable replacement to the product ordered. Any ethical and reputable business would not hesitate to compensate you fairly.

Yup, says "match" on tins and "excellent" on boxes, quite clear. "Add to check" out still says "Match."

REFUND

Give them a call... they should make it right.

Here's an update...

After emailing them Tuesday morning and not getting any reply, I tried several times yesterday to call them and only got voice mail. Just tried again and they finally answered the phone and said that they'd been busy.

They say this is the way the pellets are listed from AHG Anschutz who is their supplier so they are not to blame. Even though these are marked on the plastic "tins" as "Training", they sell them as "Match". They are willing to have me ship them back and they would reimburse me the cost (including return shipping) once they receive them. I guess that's fair.

But when I suggested that instead of doing that, that they simply credit me whatever they feel is the return shipping cost and I'll just keep them. That would somewhat make me feel better about getting "training" pellets when I believed I would be getting "Match" quality and help offset the cost. That way they would still end up costing me a fair bit more than what I pay for the training pellets I've been using. (H&N Excite and RWS Hobby.) But this they would NOT do. It's either send them back or nothing. Even though either way the cost to them would be the same. SIGH

I guess in the future I'll leave my business to the two absolutely OUTSTANDING suppliers I regularly deal with... Our own Canadian Airgun Forum Store (SniperDan) and Cibles Canada. I should have just bought from them in the first place.

Kind of funny they wouldn't use the same naming/branding as what's printed on the tin?

This been said, they show the same "tin" with similar pricing as Airgun Source... Oddly enough, AGS list all the Qiang Yang pellets as been Match
- Match - Training
- Match - Standard
- Match - Olympic

If you don't want them, I'd send them back and get the refund.
You can't blame Nordic Marksman for not giving a "discount"
- They might have agreement with their distributor about pricing
- The "cost" of returning the pellets goes in a different accounting column than a potential "credit"...

Their offer is fair and their refusal of your alternative is certainly understandable. I'd say they've demonstrated good customer service.
