I'd like to pick up the cheapest Chrony I can find. I see a few on amazon but I really had no idea they were around $200?

Has anyone recently bought one and if so, which model and from where?

This is what I have (F-1), and I'm sure lots of others on here.

I know there are cheaper ones available but have no experience with them.
If you want really cheap, there is an app for your phone but I believe it is quite inconsistent in its performance.

Chrony used to be around 108 dollars. But you can check places like CGN and stuff for used ones.

Sasksoftarmoury.ca has the ufc pro chronograph for $70. I think it's only accurate up to 1200fps or something like that so not really for powder burners, but for airguns works well. They have cheap shipping as well, $15 for expedited shipping and if you pay by EMT the PayPal fee of $2.80 is taken off when you use the coupon code emt. No tax either!

I have both the UFC and a Chrony (Alpha - the red one). I posted here in the forum about my experiences with them. See topic64144.html

Interesting! So the ufc may be measuring a little on the low side, at least that particular one was. I've heard that even the same brand chronograph can give different results, so it's hard to know whether every ufc will be the same. However I would agree that the more expensive brand name chrony's should theoretically be more accurate. And easier to shoot through! That is a BIG plus in the open v style chronographs!

They are made right here in Mississauga. Mine took a pellet and they fixed it while I waited. They run around 140.00 dollars for an f1. That's the green one.

The UFC looks cool, but I can't say I like the fact that you have to shoot through that little tube. I'd be very afraid to hit the unit. THe price is definitely attractive, even if it might be a bit off compared to a chrony. Hmmm...

I just stick my barrel right up to it, haven't had any trouble with wild numbers, only one time actually, but if you don't shoot in the middle it will sometimes not register the shot, so can be a pain
