Haven't seen the Simmons Pro-Hunter scopes since I used them in 6-18X on some gopher rifles, way back in the early 2000'ds- maybe 2004- Wholesale sports or Russell's Sports had them in Calgary. After Wholesale Sports bought out Russell's Sports, a LOT of useful stuff became impossible to buy in Canada. Stuff, like Moly Solve (made in Sask) and 10-22 Ruger Custom parts from Volquartson, that Russell's carried as a regular item.

Moly Solve, if you can find it, is also a good copper solvent. It is incredible on moly fouling & the only solvent that will quickly and reliably remove moly buildup in a bore, such as it is.

I run a 6-18 Prohunter on my 10-22 gopher rifle. they were $189.95, iirc, much cheaper than the 6.5-20X44 scopes ($325.95) I had on the CF .172's & my Martini .17HMR.
The last 6.5x20x44, I paid $95.00 US(on par then) from a friend in the States. Then, we found out that was not quite legal. Oh well.

Bottom line, is I got very god service from my Simmon's scopes - The Pro0hunters and the 44 Mags.

hi ab. I think this came up about amazon prices before. I bought a reflex sight from them a while ago for $22.00. and the next day almost the same sights had a $3000.00 dollar price on them. yesterday I was looking for one of these clamps. price for the one on top was $4.59 +$4.65 shipping. the exact same clamps underneath the first one were priced at $61.07 + $5.54 +shipping. check those scopes again today and they might even be lower than what you paid.

I think it has something to do with the seller keeping track of their inventory. If they are out of stock or there is an issue, they put a couple of extra numbers to make the price outrageous so no one will buy it. They'll fix whatever the issue is when they have time.

I have an Amazon wishlist I check almost daily (several times a day if I am waiting for a deal) as their prices fluctuate wildly - and that is more their own prices than those of Marketplace sellers. I think it might be connected to how many they have in stock for a particular item and maybe when they restock a shipload the prices drop(?).
Their warehouse deals can be good too - however, I picked up a TRS-25 dot sight up on there for about $85 or so and I reckon it was the one I had returned a couple of months previously as I didn't find it any better than cheapo Ebay items for $20. (I still like the look of them but would like to see them up close before buying another to get one with a decent dot rather than a blur - but that's a different story).

It is ALL controlled by computer algorithmic pricing and has been for quite some time. Some algorithms are better than others :)

I suppose it would be boring to most people, but you can read up on this for hours and to me its always been fascinating.

On Ebay, some dealers list the same item several times with one thread being considerably more expensive. That way it looks like you are getting a deal and just maybe someone in a hurry will simply buy the more expensive item.
