It's that time of year again , when I complain about the manufacturers not making a .22 cal blowback pistol . Heck I'd be happy with a single or double action pistol like the walther cp88 and the like . Why they aren't be made is beyond me . Now for the reasoning , first being Canadian means 500 fps max regardless of caliber and .22 hits harder ,second thing is while hunting I often see two or more grouse on a branch ,semi auto would be very handy for this . Third is that a .22 Pellet is easier to handle than the .177 ,not to mention I have nearly 20k pellets in .22. Now come on umarex we know you want to. |

Well - there is always the 38T .22 - not a blow-back; but good for follow up shots (6 total) in .22. Or a Daisy 622X .22 That said - I would LOVE a nice blow-back .22! |

Of course you could look for a Crosman 600 but not too many people are willing to give theirs up... you can't have mine. Crosman made the 2210 for a few years. Basically it was a hopped up 1008 in .22 with a longer barrel and a seven shot magazine. I handled one once but never shot it. Supposedly the velocity was in the 400 - 435fps range. You might be able to find a used one. |

This is an old thread, but I 100% agree. Why no .22 revolvers? Or a new .22 semi? |

Can not agree more!! Playing with my 1322 these two days intead of going to gym, I also find the power of .22 is so sweet! But single shot.... How about a .22 full auto blow back?! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Don't get me wrong, I love blowback replicas, but what would the advantage be of a .22 cal model. In the first place, CO2 puts out only so much pressure, and the blowback action takes up a whole bunch of that limited power. So, you wouldn't want one for higher FPE because you've already compromised the power with the blowback option. Notwithstanding that, the concept that a replica in .22 would be better for shooting game (which is illegal in many provinces) is very arguable. True, .22 wins when the speed is equal in both pistols, but that's not the way that genre is built. Hell, that's not the way rifles are built. If you buy a<500 rifle (obviously built for this country's laws), you can't buy a .22 version that shoots as fast as the .177 version. The issue seems to be a simple one: significantly more impact cannot be attained by a larger calibre because the airgun would exceed the FPE limitation. So, in this country, the power output power remains equal and you decide whether you fancy more speed or less speed, with the FPE remaining just about the same. Now, in the U.S., you have access to many variants of air pistols worthy of short range hunting, but I really doubt any of them are blowback because such a design for a powerful pistol would be contrary to its purpose. In this country, with our laws, there is just no functional need for a .22 replica because it will have the same energy limitations as the .177. $0.00 |

I would love a current production .22 revolver or pellet pistol that shoots anywhere from 400 to 500 fps just because - why not? Tons of .177 pellet and steel BB pistols out there - why not some 22 ones; as well... |
