I have some old 22 pellets and by old I'm talking vintage. What I would like to know is should I lube them up before use as they are very dry. Also what would be the best stuff to use ,I tried the search but couldn't find anything. Thanks

I suppose you could soak them in vinegar to remove the oxide.
Not sure what's best to protect lead but I'd imagine any type of coating that works for steel, like oil or wax would do it. I'd no doubt use 0wt motor oil, but something like Break Free or WD40 would leave them less sticky and oily.
Maybe they're worth more as-is, like to an airgun collector? If not then I wonder if it's even worth bothering since older designs are usually not good.
You should post pix of the pellets and box b/c I know I'm curious, but also b/c some collector might make an offer.

Wash them with water to remove the flaking crud. As they have likely oxidized, they probably will not shoot as well as new, but lead has this nice feature of deforming easily and fitting a bore (assuming they are not loose to start with)- so they may be ok. I suggest just dumping in a bucket of water and rattling them around a bit- no point in going all-out.
