My .177cal Tarantula shot right through my 2x4s from 10 yards. In .22cal my Randy built Talon had to be shot at 56 ft/lbs to go clean through a 2x4. I like taking penetration tests over the years. I found interesting results. Usually I stick too .177 cal for rifles under 20 FPE and .22cal for rifles above 20FPE . Captain Air |

alright ~ if for penetrating a 2x4, of course we will need much more force for the 22, as bigger caliber means bigger hitting area, or a bigger tunnel it need to make through the wood piece, right? Your two sample guns are both powerful.... I like doing penetrating test too... But what I used to compare is how deep it went into the wood (or say how much the pellet left outside the wood ~ [emoji16][emoji16]) Sent from my LG cellphone |
