Looks like a hell of a kit - 80 shots at about 24fpe. THAT would be worthwhile.

Nice! Congrats to you both!
Gipetto also makes delrin poppet for the Qb78(same valve as gauntlet) and could probably make it smaller like Jefferson state version if you asked. I put one in along with a lighter hammer from Ron (also member here) and my efficiency jumped way up on my Qb78 pcp. Would probably be a quite a bit cheaper to just get the poppet if you already have a light hammer spring to use. I think Alex (Gipetto) only charged $25. Anyway an option, depending on how expensive the American one is.

Are those grain of pellets new? I like the size!

Be watching this thread..intresting.

What's holding the muzzle end between the barrel and shroud for Canadian version?

If you're asking if there is any type of support between the barrel and HPA tank cover (shroud) at the muzzle end...Nothing...
It's a floating barrel.
There are concern if you try to support the Gauntlet on the shroud (tank cover) while shooting on a bench, use a bipod etc.
The shroud moves up hit the barrel and causes POI drift.
Hajimoto makes a Barrel Band and puts out a video to promote his product...but it around $70 Cdn funds
Just to ship one! That's doesn't include any hits from CBSA or brokerage!!!!
It would be nice but too much for a piece of plastic for me. Image
Daryl and I are thinking of making a support ourselves...might not be as pretty as Haji's but more fun try'n!!!

Edit: No. Pellets are old stock I purchase from AGS awhile ago.

So...does it have a cap at the end of the barrel or is it open, like a shot gun? If it has a cap with a .22 cal hole wouldn't the pellet hit if you rest the shroud on a bench and put it off centre? I must be missing something.

Oh you mean what hold the barrel shroud (41) over the barrel itself???
There is a end cap (40) on the barrel with an Oring that keeps it centered (air Stripper) The spring and muffle (44-1,44-2) are omitted for Canada.
There is also an end cap (45)on the barrel shroud to make it look pretty.

Hope that answer it.

Thanks, didn't know there was an air stripper to keep it centered. Makes sense now :-).

Hi.

If you want a barrel band , and you can find someone who bought their kid a 3D printer .
You might be able to bribe the kid into making one for you . It can be done if you know how .
Also check out https://www.thingiverse.com/ if someone has posted one there for the stl files
to print one .

Mine has the screwed in cap - which has about a .30" hole in it.

2 dealers in Canada for them - that is good.

Made a trip to the range today - too much snow on the small bore range so I shot indoors, good lighting, cranked the furnace up to

64F - had the place to myself. Quite comfortable in a T-shirt. Initial thoughts-= I must tear it apart and work on the trigger. I thought

it was going to be OK, but I will do some tuning. The rifle worked well, bolt is stiff as noted by the other users. I was able to put my

thumb behind the action and use it a lever. Now, after 200+ shots, my thumb is just a bit sore.

Oh yeah, targets. I started off resting the forend on the bag just ahead of the action, in the hollow. After the first few targets - maybe 100 shots,

I switched to using the forward part of the forend as I put a folded wax paper lift betwen the tank and the forend sleeve, to keep it away from

the barrel. i prefer to rest ALL of my rifles on the forend, but with my HW springers, use a 1/2 way location between action and pivot.

I did have some fliers and found I did not have any JSB .22 calibre pellets. Interesting. I did have Predators as well as H&N Barracuda Hunter

Extremes, Predators, Crossman HP's and RWS SuperDomes. The rifle did not like the Crossman pellets nor the SuperDomes. I tested the SuperDomes after

I'd fired off close to 200shots total, and they shot as poorly then as before. I did not re-test the Crossman HP's. I did not test the Crossman Piranha pellets

as they did not shoot as well in the Brocock as the others so had little faith in them. Perhaps I will have to try them later.

Range 25 yards.
