This is not my forte so I am sure there are many ways to achieve an end result. As you can appreciate by watching this video the initial release pressure at the "trigger" is somewhat reduced by incorporating this method and the main gas charge is dumped instantaneously. This video demonstrates a very simple method of building a workable High Pressure Valve and Trigger Mechanism. There is certainly room for improvement here, but it is a basic concept on which to build.

Dump valves can create a lot of power, but are generally very inefficient because they continue to discharge air after the projectile has left the muzzle.... If the reservoir is only a small fraction of the barrel volume to economize on the air used, then they are severely limited on power compared to only releasing a small amount of high pressure air from a larger reservoir to maintain a higher pressure throughout the shot....
