It looks very much like the Brodax but without an exposed hammer.

This revolver has 11 Joules of muzzle energy. Umarex also notes that there will be a wide range of available ammunition. And that is pretty much all the information that is released so far.

Illegal here in Canada unless you have an R-Pal and want to shoot it at a gun range... :(

11 joules for a 182 grain lead ball means it's only traveling at about 140 feet per second. That's well below 500, isn't that legal since the law states that air guns are considered firearms "with both a high muzzle velocity (greater than 152.4 meters or 500 feet per second) and a high muzzle energy (greater than 5.7 joules or 4.2 foot-pounds)."? Or is there an special rule for handguns?

You are right - as long as it travels under 500fps; it does not matter what the joules are... 8)

If you can use a CO2 capsule to propel a .50 cal lead ball to beyond 500 fps from such a short barrel, it would probably not be a repeater :)

For the muzzle energy, one co2 for 10 shots?!

But use lead ball, and position as home defense, maybe like throwing a stone but with much better accuracy?!

Interesting ~

I think that claim should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Bill Burr claims he can defend his home with a BB gun and I suppose if you're in a situation where you're obliged to fire at someone, anything is better than nothing, but if you are likely to be in that situation there are surely better alternatives.

If used in that manner, it then becomes "dangerous use of a firearm" etc, does it not?

I didn't notice any reference to the weight of the projectile, which didn't surprise me since they stated an assortment of projectiles will be available. Did I miss something?

182grain is pretty much spot on for a .495" round ball in pure lead.

My logic is discovered!

At 500 feet per second you'd need a 15 grain projectile to reach 11 joules.

This means that for a 0.50" spherical projectile, even made out of something like nylon it would still be below 500 fps so I don't see how any projectile from this revolver would exceed Canadian limits.

If you've never heard of Bill Burr I highly recommend looking through some of his material, his brand of humor would resonate very well with what I imagine to be the principle demographic of this forum :)

I would assume its also intended to fire a bunch of less lethal type rounds that are common in European countries that frown on firearms. Baikal makes a Makarov that fires rubber bullets for the Russian market.
