No Pal rated guns?

Probably because they're classified as firearms, and maybe the area the range is in. The by laws prevent discharging of firearms. Also might require a range certification, or license to operate.

When non PAL might not have to go thru all that BS.

I didn't see where it stated no pal rated but my understanding getting insurance would be an issue it there was firearms being discharged on the property.

No thanks. $40 an hour is ridiculous.
My sentiments exactly. I'll stick with my existing clubs and GTAC.

I think Edmonton<500 was talking about the one in his area.

GTAC is still alive downtown TO - PAL/airsoft/full-auto byo-reactive targets etc. allowed and annual membership fees not pay as you play though they may still have a visitor 4 pack and I believe they have teamed with a PB club that shoots that night and there is a feeder system in place. Great group of people and a good time out shooting the lead and the shyte.

I am still scouting fro a permanent dedicated 24/7 home for them....some day.

try them at

Yes Murray, please continue to scout a new home for GTAC. I just talked to the Range officer 3 days ago and they have in fact teamed up with the PB Club. So GTAC officially includes AG & PB shooting through the evening. I'll be visiting them in July.

GTAC gave me a very good first impression with the email communication while I asked so many questions....

And it's not that far to me... Location Location Location! Right? At least I don't think I will go to downtown Toronto to have the club time....

However really have no time for the moment to visit them in the short future... A very busy life family with two little kids to me... Very hard to squeeze out a whole night to enjoy my own hobby...

I am hoping they will do an info announcement here with all the details but as I heard unofficially they shoot AG fro the first 2 hours then dual or guest members can stay on and shoot PBs and then after a year join the PB club full membership....something like that so don't quote me but certainly a good development for the shooters and kept the club alive for another year.

Right on all counts. Being quite familiar with what the local guy had to go through just to allow non-pal guns, I'm concluding (did not read) that this range is limited to <500. Otherwise it would have to meet the extremely high standards of a firearm range in terms of soundproofing, ventilation, target wall construction, training of employees, etc.

The closest we have to an airgun range are two "air gun recreational shooting sport centers". You pay for range time, the use of one of their airguns (non-PAL) and pellets. Up to 10 meters. it's good for people who want to try airguns but aren't enthusiasts.

Only one allows you to use your own airgun (non-PAL) but you have to use their pellets. My impression is that they prefer you use their airguns though so that might stop soon. Aside from having more control over the shooting conditions the general population tends to be unnerved by the idea of people walking into a location with gun cases.

What ranges do they have?

$40/hr or $10 for 10 minutes? that's totally absurd. Isn't there any other ranges anywhere in Toronto that anyone knows of? I think dedicated enthusiasts wouldn't mind paying a reasonable yearly membership fee for a place where they can go and shoot.

Send an email to

info@torontoairgunclub.org

clubs name is Greater Toronto Airgun Club (GTAC) and they shoot every Monday on a 50 foot range of a few hours then the range switches to a PB club which GTAC members can segue into. not sure on the details of that process but there it is... dedicated Toronto airgun range at least one night a week...

They are of course still looking for a full time (ideally 24x7 access) home that a business case could be made for.
