Need suggestions on a fixed 10x scope . Primarily used for hunting so I would need an AO or side focus , mil dot not required but preferred for ranging . The only one I could find in Canada right now is the 10x40 bushnel and it doesn’t have adjustable focus . Im not opposed to Chinese imports .

Tasco has a 2.5-10x42mm AO... Could just leave it at 10x. Vector Optics has a 10X44 scope with side focus, around 200$ not sure the quality. Then there US optics, and other high end scopes.

D&L have some Leapers that are fixed 10x.
Good question, I would go with a fixed 10x but the Hawke adjustables are about the same or cheaper. You'd think fixed focus would be easier to manufacture and cost less but I guess they are less popular so not as many made keeps the price up.

Actually while I use my 4x to 9x, I almost fixed it to 5x or something xalk the time...

Maybe this is just the marketing things and ppl always buying things/ features they never needed / used .... And thinks one day who knows I will use it ... Right?! lol

10 X is optically on the steep side for hunting~ especially with an air rifle.
I tend to leave my zooms at the lower magnifications while I'm walking for grouse. Even then, 6 X, and even 4 X can be a hand-full.

The 2.5 - 10 X mentioned above is a reasonable priced little scope. Mid optical quality, but still not too bad.

Where I can see a fixed 10 X working is squirrels from a stand or blind...

Alternately, if rangefinding with the MilDots is the critical issue, get an First Focal Plane scope, and the dot separation stays constant regardless of the magnification selected.... I have a BSA 4.5-14 X 44 SF FFP for just that reason....

MTC makes a viper pro in 10x44. Been eyeing that one for a while myself.

After looking around , I decided to stick with what I know . Now I have a third BSA 4x14x44 on the way. Love the other two I presently have . This one was ordered from ohunt on aliexpress. There are three different models listed on aliexpress, one has a double cross reticle and locking turrets and the other is single cross and no locking turrets and the third has an illuminated double cross and locking turrets . I prefer the simple reticle mostly due to the thinner reticle . The double with locking turrets is good for closer ranges but the thickness of the crosshairs are a bit too thick . I think I did ok 142$ CAD shipped .

I picked up a BSA TMD 4-14X44 FFP(as advertised) from Ali Express awhile ago.
Price was good! And I like it! I think it's a fantastic entry level scope!!!
