I played with the Crosman DPMS a little bit today.

I chronographed eight 25 shot strings. 68°F in the basement.
I shot each 25 round magazine with a 3 second delay between each shot and reloaded each magazine promptly and continued firing the next mag.
Mag 1. 373 fps ave
Mag 2. 357 fps ave
Mag 3. 346 fps ave
Mag 4. 335 fps ave
Mag 5. 327 fps ave
Mag 6. 332 fps ave
Mag 7. 312 fps ave
Mag 8. 297 fps ave

Mag 9. the velocities dropped significantly with BB's flying errantly.

Everything runs smoothly in the whole test?! Includes bursting / semi-auto ...

It looks this is a much much better built than the Steel Force... And the accuracy is impressive for an auto BB gun... My M92A1 in full auto fun just have a spreading as wide as my open hand in 3 meters away....

has run flawlessly...Hornady Black Diamond BB's shoot very nice in this gun.

I need to get one, but it would be nice if it had more power.

I found some targets on the UBC Comp site that will work well for me to practice rapid and full auto fire with the Crosman DPMS.

Here's a test run on those targets and a couple of runs on my shop built reset-able pin rack. Can never have enough practice to get tuned up for pin shooting with powderburners :-) First run was 3.53 seconds and 3.56 on second...room for lots of improvement.

starting position with gun down at a 45° angle

using a count down timer

targets at 6 yards

8 second time limit to burst shoot each man with a minimum of 4 hits
Image

20 second time limit to tap 3 shots into each man
Image

3 second time limit to acquire target and dump 25 round magazine

I had hesitations between the Hellboy and the DPMS but between Tom Gaylord review of the Hellboy and your review of the DPMS the choice seems pretty obvious!
