hello all, what oil are you using in your compressor/ what do you believe to be the best oil to use?

Hello. I've been using AW40 hydraulic oil in my Yong Heng. Been to about 1 hour fill so far and lubrication seems to be working fine. I am using a gold filter with molecular sieve topped with a pressure maintaining valve, and I purge from the high end every 2 minutes to minimize moisture going to my guns/tanks. So far so good. Planning to use synthetic compressor oil or 5W-40 synthetic motor oil once I have used up my stock... I usually fill my 3 liter scba and my .5 liter Air Force CF tank from 2500 to 4500. Works great so far! Will try to fill up my 45 minutes scba and see how it goes.

I picked up 4 lt from KML tools.
AMSOIL SAE 20 Synthetic Compressor Oil (946 ml) $17.99
but not sure they're carrying it anymore.
If you have an Amsoil dealer it town call and ask.
Although others have used different or even non-Synthectic...you should stay with a SAE 20.
IMO.
