I bought that rifle 20 something years ago.
Came with Bushnell SPORTVIEW .22 scope, it shot (or I shot) all over the target, couldn't figure it out, I even thought barrel wasn't rifled :). took the scope off and did a bit better with open sight, but still not impressed at that time. It rested in my cabinet till recently when I took interest in hunting small game (grouse) with an air pistol.

I started reading and following sage shooters advise I started using heavier pellets (10.4) and light hold.
With a scope still random, so I took it off, with open sight I can put (almost) everything within .75 in from 10y.
What do you say, am I in the ballpark accuracy for that tool?

What would you suggest for the scope?

See Wes's site or D&Lairguns for scopes, specifically air gun scopes.

From where do you hail? No location on your sig. block.

3/4" at 10 yards is ball-park for a high powered springer. I would expect better from a sub 500fps model, of made.

The 48 is quite a nice rifle.

Buddy of mine was doing about 3/8" for 5 shots at 20yards with his - using an air rifle scope.
