If you do find a scope that the BAM28 doesn’t break, please let me know. I also have one. I was thinking I’ll have to put a peep sight on it. It is a powerful gun though. It’s also a bear to cock. Need to eat your wheatie’s before a session with that gun. LOL

Hello all. I am wondering if anyone can recommend a modestly priced scope that would stand up to the battering of a magnum springer. I know the maxim "you get what you pay for" is often proven true, but am curious what the best scope options might be for someone on a budget.

One thing I will add is that a good fixed magnification scope would be an option. It seems like these should be much more durable since they have few moving parts (focusing aside) as well as being cheaper, so the trade-off may be worth it.

If $250.00 is not moderately priced, then no, I can't, sorry.

Had a Bug Buster 3-9 that jammed up in the power ring as it was on a magnum .22 Springer from China - the Diana 34 Clone.

This was a $150.00 scope. The store, D&L replaced the scope, but I did not put it back on the springer. I gave the springer away.

Yeah,$250 isn't really moderately priced based on my air gun budget. I guess that is I am thinking of a fixed magnification scope as a way of keeping cost down. I have a UTG bugbuster on my 1322, but I wouldn't want to risk even a scope of that cost/quality if I want confident that it would hold up.

I may see what is out there for fixed mag scopes higher than 4x (which is a bit low) that are known for durability.

I’ve had a UTG 3x9x40 on a Hatsan 135 ( .22 ) for a while with no issues . I should mention it is “True strength “ which are the springer rated scopes . Bought my brother in law I beleive it was a 3x12 for his B28 also no issue . They can be found for relatively low prices in comparison to Hawk or other . Have a look https://www.amazon.ca/Leapers-3-12X44-C ... B004KRA4YG

I put a 3-9 Bugbuster scope on a Chinese version B28C? a high powered .22 springer.

I did have the BB scope on a HW98 .22 for a while, then upgraded it's scope & put the Bugbuster on the

magnum springer. It took only about 50 shots and I could not turn the power ring - at all. I did manage to turn it

by wrapping it in cloth and using channel locks - no marks. D&L took it back and sent another. I gave the springer

to a friend for shooting mice in his house. LOL It had been given to me because it wouldn't shoot well, past about 10 yards.

I think I will probably just try a simple 4x32 or something. I can't really justify mounting a moderately priced zoom scope I am not confident in on a rifle known to eat scopes.

If there are any brands of fixed mag scopes that are known for durability despite being inexpensive, that would be helpful.

Or is that higher magnification than you want? Image

Unfortunately, that is well outside my price range. That is why I am thinking of something pretty simple. Looks like a sweet scope though.

Sorry about that. I see I already mentioned this scope earlier as well. My bad.
