 Post subject: Arrow shooting airguns

Anyone knows what are the rules and regulations regarding arrow shooting airguns?
Are they classified as airgun or as crossbow?
The Crosman Airbow for example shoots arrows at 450 FPS producing 160 FPE. So it should be a non PAL airgun right?

It seems this specific model is prohibited independent of its ballistic performance on account of its bullpup stock, from this forum post that purports to show a reply from a RCMP official:

in answer to your question the Benjamin Pioneer Airbow is classified as a rifle.

This rifle is Prohibited in Canada under the definition of "Prohibited Device" in "Part III/Firearms and Other Weapons" of Section 84 of the Criminal Code of Canada having a bullpup stock.

What are they going to ban next? Fun!?

So the FX Indy Arrow should be a no no too but the verminator should be OK!
