I've been chasing flyers for the last week. Shooting rested, scoped, with a shoulder stock at 10 yards, my groups were around 1.5" I was sure my barrel was f$cked. Turns out I'm just a lousy shot. Two tins of pellets later, I finally got my trigger finger in the right spot (closer to the tip) and really concentrated on pulling straight back. It'll now clover-leaf at the same 10 yards with CPHP. The old adage of "it's usually the shooter" holds true. I'd gotten spoiled shooting my QB78, I forgot how tricky a small little gun can be to keep on target. |

Glad it's getting better =). You've probably tried other pellets already, but I found air arms/jsb to work well, especially the 16g/15.89gr. (Also cleaning the barrel of the anti rust gunk they stick in for shipping) Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk |

JSB 18.13's are almost one hole, it's the only other pellet I've tried. It's flinging them around 415 fps and surprisingly quiet. Something like 85 shots a fill. Aside from the creep, I've managed to get a pretty flat spread across the fill. Regulator is about as low as it will go (any lower and it seals and leaves the valve empty). I find the trigger is much better with less hammer spring. |

Another very important lesson in handgun shooting, is to use only the tip (1/2") of the trigger finger on the trigger, not the joint, which is a common fault. As you found, concentrate on duplicating your hold, shot to shot, and squeezing the trigger straight back - concentrate hard on the front sight. |

Just an update... The Crossman piranhas seem to shoot the tightest at 10 yards. Wasn't expecting that. Thanks for the suggestion. |

Glad you found a cheap accurate pellet. My PP700 prefers the HP's, with the Piranha's coming in with the next batch of accurate, but more expensive pellets. I figured they should be identical, but do not shoot the same. |

I can't wait to get a scope. I got a reddot on mine, and my astigism makes it look like a star. So not the most precise. 7 shot in 1/2 inch. But 3 fliers so like and inch. Last 10 shot group was a vertical string. That was 3/4" with one flier making it a inch. Haven't got it out to 10 or 20m yet. Just 25ft. |

Scope made a big difference for me, but I guess it depends on your eyes how much difference it makes. Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk |

I also have astigmatism that is corrected with my long distance, computer and reading glasses. If I look over my glasses, the red dot is an angled slant, through the distance lens and the red dot is round. I cut the power on the dot back to where it's visible, but not glaring. If too bright, it's very large, with indistinct edges, like a rotating star.

Then again I shoot at B27 or IPSC target mostly ( Bigger bulls ) So it's not like I'm trying to put the bullet in the same hole. I don't focus on it too much. Just superimpose the dot over and fire. |

The scope will help. Silly me. I just discovered that by clicking on the pictures, they enlarge up to 2 times for 2 clicks. This is the same feature as the imrg upload system over on http://www.americanlongrifles.org/forum . |

The little 3-9 that I got, should be sweet in carbine mode.. |

Got to stretch the range out to 26 yards. First group was one ragged hole with JSB 18.1's at 430fps. This was rested, with the stock, and a 3-9x scope. Not much for pesting, but I've got a few rats under the shed that need to be taken care of. I'd love to mount a small bipod to the air tube, not sure what my options are. |
