I was able to get out and stand in line with hundreds of others for the Kamloops gun show today. We braved the cold ( ok relative cold - it was about 4 with a cold wind )

It was a very good show, hundreds of tables spanning three indoor arenas. I wasn’t sure if there would be any airgun or related items... luckily there was! I quickly went through skimming the powder burners to come back to later, looking for airguns.

Found a table with a few parts, and jumbled in with other items was a Webley Mark 1, in very nice shape. Came with a bag of extra springs and an extra piston. Leather seal was dried out, but otherwise everything was working, and it wasn’t missing any parts. One of the original grips was chipped as is usual, and someone made a nice set of wood grips. I don’t think anyone else had interest, or really knew what it was.. snapped it up without any bartering needed. Paid half of what I would have expected to pay.

Wandered around a bit more, and other than a couple of Daisy bb rifles in not great shape, didn’t see much else. Until, I ran into a very nice gentleman who had a table with mostly powder burners, but tucked in amongst them was a rifle I had only read about and seen a few video reviews raving about this classic target rifle.... a Feinwerkbau 300s!! At first I don’t think he was sure if I knew what it was, but I sure did. After confirming everything was in working order, I happily handed over a small pile of bills. It was in very good condition, a few stock bruises and very minor wear to some of the bluing but otherwise, it had been very well taken care of. Came with the original Feinwerkbau diopter sights too. I was more than tickled.

Got the new guns home and gave them a quick once over wiping them down. Under good lighting they were both in even better condition than I had thought. The Webley cocks and fires well, just a little weak, I suspect a weakened spring, easy to replace!
The 300s... I’m in awe. I’ve only had time for a dozen or so shots, but I can say I’ve never shot anything like it. I cannot believe this is a springer... absolutely zero recoil. And dead nuts accurate. I think I may get buried with this one.

What a day!

You lucky Dawg, you!

I have been after a 300-S for umpteen years. I believe that is a silhouette stock, if memory serves right. At least you didn't get stuck with the tyrolean....

Congrads on an excellent score! My turn next!

WOW!!! The FWB 300 just makes me so jealousy!!

I want a FWB ( anyone... A FWB100 would be best...) for a very long time, however it's really so hard to see one! Can't believe you can get one from a gun show, it's just as difficult as finding one from yard sale ~

Thanks Doc! I’m sure you’re turn is coming soon.

I wasn’t even aware of the different factory stocks. More research to do today...

Thanks. This is the first gun show I have been able to actually attend. I think you stand to get a better deal at a gun show on airguns as most everyone there has little to no interest. Even the vendors seem to for the most part just want to get rid of the air stuff to make room for “real” guns. I actually passed up a very nice little nickel Rossi pump action .22 lr in favor of the 300s. I don’t think most anyone else there would have made the same choice.

I’m hooked and will be attending as many as I can from now on.

nice find. yep gun shows are a good place to find airguns. there is a gun show in st. Catharines next Friday . may 3rd. mr. marvin is going to that one. that's a little bit too far for some of you. I wen,t to one there once and found an old crossman .177 peacemaker. I talked the guy down to $20.00 for it. they have one there every 3 months.

There was also a Tau 200 Senior rifle for sale from the same vendor... if I had another $500 I would have bought it too. Maybe someone else near Kamloops might want to attend today and check it out.

Yup, lots of guns hows going on in SW Ontario; just follow Marvin's schedule :)

Don't know how frequent they are in B.C., but there's very little show action here.

Two variants of the 300-S. I need to find the listings for the Silhouette and Running Boar TBH versions. From the 1975 Gun Digest.

FWB 4300 from the '74 G/D.

Image

Crosman 64 electronic valve competition rifle from the '90. I think this one was built by Anschutz.....
