Any one know what type of pellet this is?

https://www.airgunsource.ca/us/steel-fi ... -free.html

Is it all plastic? Will the plastic gum up the inside of the barrel?

What are they designed for? Hunting? Target? Plinking?

Don't know at all about them, but I saw at least 3 cracked sabots in the demo picture. At 5$ for 200 pellets, that's not too bad for a trial. If they're like most other plastic saboted pellets, they shouldn't gum the barrel up too much, if at all I guess, even though they don't seem to be very high quality. Best way to know would be to order a tin 8) .

Want to give it a try too! However I don't have anything else want to buy, and shipping will cost me 13$... Put into the cart first, hopefully when I go to check out next time it's still available....

I would say they are plastic. I have a tin of old Prometheus pellets. They shatter easy. I would say they are only good for plinking, because I tried grouping with similar, and was poor accuracy even at 25ft.

Yeah, the grouping of the Prometheus is not that good. I had a tin before too...

And the tiny alloy cylinder shape pellet inside the plastic cover should be for just a very simple 'insert' to make the pellet?!

Don't think it can provide the clean cut function as the normal wadcutter pellets and 6.9gr is not that super light weight as non lead pellet vs lead pellets... Just the price of 2 cups of coffee (not include shipping ~), and plastic cover may make it suitable in many picky barrels... Should not be harmful to give it a try....

I think you'll find pellets like this only exist for countries with really strict laws on lead content. Some places have outright bans on all leaded ammunition. A proper skirted lead pellet will outperform that plastic cased w/steel load junk 100% of the time.

But lead is a becoming a hot topic again. For 2 decades lead shot has been banned here to hunt migratory birds with (possibly over any natural bodies of water??) due to environmental damage. But recently an outright ban on lead ammo for all "non military use" was being discussed.

Took the chance for shipping together with my FX Chrony from AGS, I bought 2.tins of this pellets.

We can expect it's not the competition target shooting type, but the grouping is not that bad~ And the penetrating power of these little pieces just very impressive and hits very hard! So before it sold out, I think you can buy one or two tins for the plinking needs ~ Recommended!

I would not shoot such light ( &low quality) pellets in a springer.

It's actually not that bad ( usually photos zoomed to that close you can see too much flaws on anything...). And good for low power air guns like those shooting around just 400fps...

And I found that as you don't have high expectations on these pellets, you can just REUSE them because I nearly didn't notice marks ( rifling cut marks) on the skirt (tube) when I picked up some around the target and checked and it gives same feeling when I loaded it into the breech like the new ones... Anyway, I don't think reuse them on the springers but looks okay on others like CO2 and SSPs... Just such a cheap buxter... [emoji38]
