Dollarama "puck" lights were too bright for chrony sensors so I covered them with plastic cut-outs from a milk jug....works great....no more error readings....

TKS for this suggestion. Using the LED Pucks form Cdn. Tire ($5.95 with batteries) I purchased a couple years back, I do get
the odd error, indoors.

Yes..for some reason without the shades on....the pucks just didn't work at all, but now, maybe 1 or two errors out of 10 so Ill take it....$1.25 at Dollarama....F1's can be finicky I guess.....mind you....I've shot it twice....over the years... :D

I bought a couple of elliptical shaped lights from home depot which have the three leds in a line and they have worked almost perfectly. I just rest them on the white shades of the chrony.

When I did my PP700SA tuning, I clamped the gun in a vise, out of 700 shots I may got only 2 ERRs, with my F1. Lining it up I found is the KEY.. I put a laser on my rest and shined it to the target. Made a cardboard template that I could line up the chrony with the laser. To get the most constant numbers. But I use 24 LED ones, and brightness never was a factor.

I had this F1 since 2016, and I realized to set it up lower then the muzzle. I don't try and group and do tuning work at the same time.

You are very thorough...it pays off...its difficult sometimes to get a perfect angle over the chrony....especially a finicky one...which is how I shot mine twice.....it LOOKED like the barrel was clearing the rear sensor...lol....live and learn I guess... :D

The chrony is designed to read against it's supplied diffusers~ not the light source.
If you have a need for artificial light, life get's a lot easier by illuminating the diffusers.

These pucks have a dozen or more L.E.D's. Currently using the pucks as emergency flashlights in the travel trailer.
