Got my new 4500psi carbon fiber tank all filled up but a huge problem has raised its ugly head. Now that I have 4500 pounds of air in it, how in hell am I ever going to carry it out to the car to go shooting?????? I don't think I'll be able to lift it.

Yeah!! you mean no one ever told you you need to buy a tow truck to go PCP'n i think someone miss guided you :lol: :lol:

Pickup a used armored truck. also serves as a back stop. Say that,s not a bad idea, armored glass back stop with a slo mo camera behind the glass. Would make for some interesting video.

Think you're on to something here Joe. It would also double as a mobile gun safe. Add a power source and one of those Raptor high pressure pumps and you could fill up anywhere you go. Sounds like the best RV an airgunner could ask for.

It's even worse than you think! Remember, that number means is 4500 pounds of air per square inch! That tank is probably at least 40 cubic inches. If they ever make one that goes over 5000psi it will probably collapse into a black hole if filled!

You gotta pity us poor pcp pistoleers too! 2900 psi ain't exactly a flyweight. Good thing most of us started out on pumpers, and have fore-arms developed enough to lift that massive weight and shoot one-handed with it! :wink: :lol:

So would that be 4500 pounds X 40?
My tank is 90 cubic inch so that would make it 405 000 pounds of air when the tank is full! So a bit over 200 tons. And the doctor says I have to exercise more :roll: pfff

Many years ago I went to pick up my Moms boat at the lake and was told to bring an air tank because of a flat. When I got there, I realized the tank was empty. When I got home, my Dad informed me that I had to open the valve in the top, and that compressed air doesn't liquefy like oxygen or propane tanks where you can feel it slosh. Ohhh to be 20 and know everything again LOL

I called Joe at 'air tanks for sale' yesterday about a shoebox and a 71 cubic foot CF tank. After he upsold me all the options on the tank, and a $400 air dryer, I now have to send him $2350 US for all the goodies and shipping to my US broker. Now I know why they call this the dark side, I should have stayed with springers!!

Since you went with a dryer. I have to ask are you using your bottles for diving as well? Having a dryer in my opinion is quite the luxury item unless you live in a very moist climate or are using your tanks for diving.

Do you have a photo of the dryer you are getting, as I find the air on the east coast needs a dryer.

Manitoba is quite humid in the summer time, so I am going to protect my investments with an air drier. I don't consider it a luxury item, I look at it as insurance. I have a 15 HP screw compressor in my shop and the amount of water we drain daily is stunning.
