Well, I finally made it to the Gravel piles and had a wonderful time. Couldn't stop grinning once I got home! It was a great day, a little breezy but not bad at all. I had the 25 cal M11, the 22 cal Outlaw, and I brought my Chief out too. All I have to shoot on is a tripod, I'm still waiting for my shooting bench to come in the mail, so it was a bit of a challenge, for me anyway, and I'm out of practice too! I was shooting at 50-55 yards.
First up was the M11 and I was shooting the King and King Heavy. They were Ok but not the best, then I switched to try out the 25 cal predator polymag and was really happy with those, giving me 7 shots out of 9 at 0.7" and then two shots I let get away from me (first target pic). Another friend bought one and had the opposite effect, with the king and king heavy doing well, so I guess it depends on the barrel. The M11 was set to shoot around 870fps with the Kings.
Next I moved to the Outlaw. The velocity was around 960fps with 14.3gr pellets, so pretty hot! It was shooting great with the JSB 15.89, the Hades and especially liked the H&N Barracuda.
The Benjamin Hollowpoint didn't do so well, and neither did the Skenco UltraShock. That was disappointing about the Skenco, as others have reported great accuracy with them.
I shot all 11 shots in the magazine in these last two pictures and both ended up at 0.9" though the Hades had two fliers outside that, but I might have just pulled them. The Barracuda were in the same hole for the first 4 shots then it seemed I lost my touch and spread the hole out a bit. Still I'm really happy with how it was shooting. With my Chief I wasn't doing any better than the Outlaw and my Chief is a sniper if I have a good rest, getting 3/8" groups at 50 in the past. So lots of promise in these guns for sure!
All in all it was just so wonderful to get out and shoot! The summer has been cruising by and I hope to get a few more opportunities before it's over!
Cheers,
Wes
