I might just skip the next version of the Glock 17 Gen 4 - I can't find any differences between this new version and the Gen3 - I must be missing something.

I'm not too impressed with the Gen 3 - my copy isn't the most inaccurate, so unless the next generation reviews highlights better accuracy, I'll be passing on this one.

The reviews say the Glock 17 Gen 4, CO2 .177 BB pistol is far superior to the Gen 3. Check out Andy's review:

Let's hope it comes for sale in Canada soon. Anyone know when all the retailers will have it in Canada?

I see it is now for sale at Pyramyd in the USA.

From what I have seen by looking at the mag, the gen 4 in most likely the closest thing to the reel one 8) .

I have been waiting on it for the last 2 or 3 year's back, I went for the 6mm one and kind of appreciated it with time, I may pass on the 4.5mm

The Gen 3 has a long trigger pull that pushes a bb into the chamber. More of a double action.
The Gen 4 has a realistic 5.5lb short realistic trigger pull that's a lot more like a real glock.
Being a glock owner and shooter (I own 3 9mm glocks) the gen 4 is a lot more suitable for cross training with a gun I can practice timed draws and drills with in the basement or places I can't shoot the real ones as they are restricted.
I've been waiting for the gen 4 since last year and ordered one from replica airguns last week as soon as they were released here in Canada.

Funny how they made the airgun version soo much different. But in real life, there isn't much difference between Gen 3 and 4. Back strap didn't phase me at all, and I didn't find the dual recoil spring make recoil any different.

Glock should come out with a Glock 34 Pellet gun.

My guess is that Umarex is refining & improving the Glocks they sell, as they introduce new models (for the North American market). First they came out with the non-blowback Glock 19 Gen 3, a more of an entry level, lower price point model, to get the official Glock brand out in the market. Then came the Glock 17 Gen 3, as partial blowback model. Then the Glock 17 Gen 4, that, according to all the reviews is a much better constructed, full blowback airgun, with more authentic magazine. At the same time they are introducing the Glock 19x, in tan, which is also suppose to be (per reviews) a quality blowback airgun.

So probably introducing a number of different models, one at a time, to appeal to the Glock enthusiasts. And priced lower to higher for better sales.

This is probably why the first ones did not mirror the actual handguns.

They have introduced other models of Glock air pistols, including pellet versions, in Europe. Let's hope they all make it to North America.

Thanks everyone...so there is stock among online retailers. Tempting....

Huh? The Gen 4 is full blowback? I thought that was the case as is with the Gen 3. So that'll mean more CO2 use and not sure if it'll give much a difference in feel....

I think the Gen 3 was described as partial blowback, where as the Gen 4 is a true full blowback.

Watched the video - thanks for the post.

So the Gen4 is a much better built than Gen 3 - that's a huge bonus. But sad to hear that the accuracy is no better than the Gen 3. As a matter of fact the Gen 3 fairs better...unless there's sample variation?

At $200 which is a higher price point than Gen 3 - not sure if the price will drop, or if I should just order it...

If it's any indication it sold out in less than 2 weeks at PyramydAir

Just got my gen4 yesterday
First impressions: doesn't have as much weight in the nose so it points unnaturally compared to a 9mm
Also it won't fit in my kydex holsters the slides too fat. It works in leather but I'm bummed. The kydex holsters are what I use for appendix draw practice and this was meant to be surrogate for practicing my draw times and first shot accuracy.
