Deburring the hole on the Disco valve tube?

Post subject:  Deburring the hole on the Disco valve tube?
I ripped my 2240 apart today to put a lighter valve spring in. I'm using a cut down Discovery tube. I can't use that tool Crosman uses to install the valve pass the gauge hole hole because the guy that made the tube made the hole slightly smaller for fit. The gauge hole above the top of the valve in pic.

How would i deburr that? Can you press it down with a piece of dowel or something as your passing over the hole instead?

I like the idea of deburring though..

You need to deburr the big hole? You can take a a wood dowel, cut a slit down the center, and get some 600 grit, slide it in the slit and spin it around inside the tube, Or can get some small curved files.

Not sure on the slicing but going to try to glue a piece around the dowel.

Magnum Air looks like there open for a short bit! run run if you can!

Never used one, but cannot see why it wouldn't work. Might bee a bit faster than a file.

I have a Benjamin Maximus which i assume has the same hole and the same rough edges. I havent disassembled it yet to check.

If deburring is a fix, why doesnt Crosman/Benjamin deburr it at the factory? I know, i know, the easy answer is because it costs money to add another step in manufacturing.

I am just wondering if deburring would only reduce the risk of cutting the seal, but would not eliminate the problem altogether?

I am a novice at this stuff, so please dont take my question as confrontational. Haha!

I bought this 10 dollar deburer from PA, I tried it, not sure if it cleaned up. But i got everything back in and holding air!

Good way to test.. If you cannot get a finger in and do a nail test. Pull a cotton rag, toilet, or paper towel thru, and check for anything that caught.

The tools shown will work some what but, they have better ends for them. You have to search them out. It takes a certain amount of pressure to cut clean. Practice makes perfect. I been using these in my shop forever. The wooden rod works well. Leave the sand paper loose enough to act like a flapper . Works perfect and the price is right. I would wrap the sandpaper tight enough to just go in the tube, then unwind it some to create the flap. The flap will actually reach kinda into the edges of the hole This doesn't have to be turning real fast either.

I found that the yellow tephlon tape works much better for me.
Wrapped it just over 2 wraps, perfect. Made sure i got most of the old tape out of the threads first.
