buying some from the USA today

thought someone could make them up here in batches and sell them locally in Canada? thoughts?

I bought these cowbells at Walmart for 10 bucks. Nice and loud.

I just hung the cow bell from my drum set on a tree branch with a zip tie. nice ting at 60 yds to confirm a hit. only shot with my sub 12 but believe it would take harder hitting guns at closer distances. thinking of putting a steel plate with small hole in front of bell to make it better to shoot at closer distances.

This where bell target shooting started. It was meant for short range, indoor shooting with low power airguns.

I bought some 1/4” and 1/8” steel plates off of Kijiji for cheap. I think they were scrap cut-offs from a water jet cnc or something. Combine them with 2x4, sawhorse brackets, and some chain, makes nice ringing targets.

I was so envious when I read about the whole bell target scene a few years ago. Guns in pubs likely wouldn't fly these days, but I can just feel the camaraderie and fun times they would have had.

I guess field target is the closest thing we have these days. Unfortunately the events are spread out all over the province, and always seem to fall on the weekends I'm scheduled to work, never fails. I went to one pistol match in Burlington about 11 years ago. It was one of the funnest days of shooting I've ever had. I made new friends, ran into old friends from the forum, I even tied for third, lost in a shoot out.

I made a few of these little bell targets. Left a couple with no tops for ease of cleaning, couple have the top on.

5/16” steel plate, drilled out mounting holes. Drilled out the large center bullseye hole. Then mounted a large washer to aid in seeing the bullseye at a distance (otherwise just just a dark hole that blends in with everything else).

Used a strap hinge with a large screw through bolted so the pellet impacts the screw and won’t destroy the relatively weak metal hinge. Mount the bell of your choosing... have a couple I borrowed old fire alarm bells from which make a lovely deeper ring, this one is higher pitched.

The whole setup is probably overkill for sub 500 guns, but holds up well to velocities into the 800’s so far. I’d seen a similar design with the bell exposed to the pellets, they strike the bell directly to ring it, but over time you’d need to replace the bell.
