I'm curious what everyone is using for optics on their heavy recoiling nitro piston and spring rifles. I'm using a UTG 4x32AO True Strength scope on a full-power Crosman NP rifle but it's not doing so well anymore. The scope was no problem for a couple of years but this summer it started jumping adjustment. At 50 yards it sometimes jumps 12 clicks to the right and then after a few dozen shots it jumps back. The crosshairs look fine and the scope did not fog up at all. I could probably still use it on a milder springer rifle. I've heard of NP rifles shearing internal scope screws and breaking crosshairs. I had an old Bushnell Sportview 3-9x32AO airgun scope that died after being mounted on a Diana 52. The scope was on a HW30S at the time and it fogged up and was no longer usable. I sent it to Bushnell and they sent back a new Sportsman model (no longer made). |

I have 2 of the UTG Leaper's 3-12X etched glass reticle scopes on my HW97 springers, however these are not what I would call heavy recoiling springers. They have worked perfectly, though, no problems. These guns run 14 to 15FPE or thereabouts. |

Hawke airmax line. They have some of the new stuff at ags. Nice glass. Great warranty. |
