Post subject:  22xx rabbit holes and PCP vs stock PCP

The 22xx mod bug has had me in it's grasp lately. I'm very happy with my current 22xx/2260 project gun but now I'm starting to think PCP. I have also seen a video where a guy has had to have the valve from his PCP modified 22xx surgically removed from his thigh.

I'm wondering if it would be both cheaper and safer to skip a step or two in the 22xx rabbit warren and go strait to a related factory offering, specifically the Benjamin Maximus kit. Any thoughts on this?

There are a few good post on he about how to pin the valve for PCP use. Also thicker walled main tubes.

Yes I've seen some of those and I think I'm starting to get a handle on doing a conversion to HPA but I don't have the costs vs just buying something like the Maximus sorted.

If I've got it right I can convert my 2260 tubed 22xx build by using a Disco tube, Disco valve assembly, Disco pressure gauge, and Disco fill cap assembly. Does everything else carry over from the 22xx?

Is there a reason that I could not use a CO2 powerlet eliminator with HPA as long as I have the air pressure regulated down to 800psi before it leaves the bottle/tank and goes to the eliminator?

That in my opinion is the way to go......even without the dummy CO2 as long as your regulated pressure is around the same as CO2 it will be fine. Even a bit higher.......as they always design them to handle more. Some of the more experienced will chime in.....

Regulated HPA at 850 psi performs very good on the 22xx platform. I had built a few of them over the years. Plumbing is always kinda ugly. I guess it depends on how you go at it.
But expect to get 800fps from a 24" barrel pretty easily.
