Post subject:  Pistol scopes?

Anyone know of an affordable source for pistol scopes?
I checked the Amazon and $200 is the price there. Red dots are cheaper but I'd like to get a scope. For $200 I can buy a vortex scout scope... Something like that anyway.

By all means, check the various sites where scopes are sold. I am sure there is one between $90.00 and $200.00.
The Vortex Scout Scope for $199.00 has a 9.45" eye relief. You will need more for a handgun, seems to me.

And any special spec you need for the scope? Power? Size? Weight? Etc??

I haven't used a pistol scope for eoons. I can strongly remember though the eye relief was huge, like at full arms length. I used them on my black powder rifles and also on a 357 for hunting. To give an idea on eye relief ,these scopes were 1 power and were mounted where the rear sight would be mounted on a rifle. Same thing on my smith .The only thing better than a red dot was you had fine cross hair aiming. Back then red dots were just starting and not the best. They weren't even as good as the cheapest ones now days.

I tried that before~ yeah, IMO, much better than a dot sight and can give you very clear sight picture!

And the eye relief distance between the two scopes is that~ full arm vs a few inches... Image

Thanks guys, I kinda forgot about this post
Well I looked around, found some cheaper ones on the online stores and everything seems to be out of stock.
I did come across a couple red dot sights on Amazon that I like. One with a 2 moa dot. Looks decent and small enough to not look silly. I'll probably just go with that.

As for the vortex scout I have on my marlin, seems I can't get it far enough foreward on the lever scout rail. I can play with the focus too, seems I could use it on a pistol if I wanted... It's kinda big though.
