Looking for spec of the Lucznik 87

#1 Post by KyKaMo »

Hey guys I need your help,

One of my favourite pellet guns I've shot was a Lucznik 87 model. It belongs to my dad and was his dads before him. We were both wonder what its fps was. I've tried looking and can't find anything on how powerfull it is. I forgot to check last time i was over there but it was probly made in the 20s in poland.

Anyone know how powerfull these rifles are? from any time frame?

Thanks

I own a Lucznik 87

It is on my lap as I type.

It was my first pellet gun. It is old. I would post a pic, but not sure how to size it down so I can paste it here. Here are a few details about the gun.

- made in Poland
- built very solid. All metal/wood
- 19 inch barrel
- 43.3in overal length
- certianly not a match trigger
- leather piston and breech seal
- rear sights have elevation adjustment
- the airchamber end plug/trigger housing threads into the rear of the airchamber
- only around 500fps in .177
- VERY mild shooting springer

I plan on this being my sons first pellet gun.

Mine's an Archer 87 (Apparently Lucznik is archer in Polish), and likely made in the 70's.
Very well made, very accurate, and it has a barrel lock to keep things locked up nicely. I really like it.
My last Chrony on it put output at about 475fps with unknown dome pellets.
Air and springs and CO, too

Actually the Lucznik 87 model was produced in Poland (correctly the Polish Peoples Republic) from 1956 to 1972. Then in 1973 the name was changed to the Predom –Lucznik kl.187 and under this name it was produced until 1980. The design of the original Lucznik 87 was very loosely based on the Haenel I-53 air rifle produced in the German Democratic Republic and the IZH-38 air rifle produced in the Soviet Union. In the nearly a quarter of century long production run the engineers in the Radom factory introduced over 100 various improvements to the original design. A new Lucznik 87 was able to shoot up to 550fps with a standard pellet (around 8J of muzzle energy). Every airgun from the production line was checked in the Radom factory for accuracy at 10m. The accuracy was classified as adequate if five consecutive shots placed within a ring 30 mm in diameter.
Since 1967 a letter which indicated the year of production was added before the serial number: A – 1967, B – 1968, C – 1969, D – 1970, E – 1971, F – 1972, G – 1973, H – 1974, I – 1975, J – 1976, K – 1977, L – 1978, M – 1979 and N – 1980.
Now you can check the year of production of your respective Lucznik 87 air rifles.

Looks like your Lucznik is quite old and was produced somewhere in the period of 1956-1966. Back then they did not use a letter yet.
