My dad taught me to shoot with a .22 BSA air rifle in the court yard of the farm when I was 4 years old. Sadly we where only renting the house so we moved on to less gun friendly areas. Approximately 50 years later and after a lot of burnt gun powder I'm suddenly digging out the old 1322, 2240, Slavia .177 630/77, Slavia .177 624, and a Chinese .22 air rifle (B5-1 I think) version of the type 81 military rifle. Oiling and cleaning them and rediscovering the fun of cheap shooting. I've gone on a bit of an online shopping bender and ordered a .22 SPA WF600 (aka B3-4)($118 shipped), it appears to be very similar to the type 81 trainer (which is a great shooter) but with much better ergonomics. The type 81 trainer is horrid to hold and shoot and makes a mess of the web between my thumb and finger of my right hand, the stock is also about 4 inches too short for me. The scope rail is also junk and a scope will not stay zeroed on it, the iron sights are accurate. I was also ordering parts to make a carbine/rifle out of the 2240 but discovered on this site (google search lead me here) that it would still be a pistol even with the shoulder stock and long barrel. I'm going ahead with this project but have now also ordered a 2260 main tube to replace the 2240 main tube. I'm hoping to get a 700fps ish .22 carbine/rifle out of this when done. If that works out I'll look at adding a magazine to to it as well. Thanks for all the good info I have found and will find on this site. |

Unless you have your restricted, I wouldn't post anything about a pistol with velocity over 500fps unless you want the boys in blue knocking on your door. |

Yes I have my restricted PAL and an ATT to take my restricted firearms to the range etc... I will not be making a restricted firearm out of a 2240 because it will be a 2260 which while it will be a firearm due to both muzzle energy and velocity it will not be restricted and will be treated the same as my other non-restricted firearms (note it will have a full length stock and barrel resulting in an over all length of at least 26 inches). Now other recently prohibited firearms that our "buttock hat/Dear Leader" justin has recently inflicted on myself and others are another matter, that idiot still hasn't given me a viable option to dispose of those. PS... if anyone is looking for 2260 main tubes Crosman Canada has them in stock for about $30 and free shipping, at least after I bought a few pellets and other bits. |

My Chrony decided to work today so I've started getting some base numbers for my guns, this is only rough and I'll get the exact numbers later. WF600 460fps B5-2 (the AK/Type 81 thing) 420fps 1322 440fps with 10 pumps and 499fps with 20 2240 390fps (the transfer port thing has a damaged seal, I'm waiting for a new one) |

Welcome to the forum. 20 pumps? For one shot? OK I'm never getting a 1322. Even SSP's are on the outs for me. |
