Can you put up a link to where these posts are ?

For the barrel jig ... and the trigger sear file if there is one.

Thanks for posting your thoughts :)

FWIW, my Scout (from Princess Auto) does the same thing - occasionally fires when closing the barrel. Fortunately, I am a fan of barrel control, so the first time it happenned it just discharged harmlessly toward the backyard. The second time it happened was the last time a pellet went into it.

I doubt it is worth repairing, so I am thinking about cannibalizing the barrel for future purposes... Alternatively, I may turn it into a dart gun.

I don't know who this Grizzly scout is, but he should stop firing at Will. He will eventually hit him. sorry, couldn't resist.
Cannibalizing the barrel, spring, piston and stock, would be my choice.

I don't know if I would re-use anything from that gun! $40 means very poor quality, and it is not like you would put that barrel or spring etc on a better gun, or would you?

Just use it carefully and throw it away when the time comes! My friend just bought one against my advice and it had no breech seal and the tar was super thick and way too much of it and now it shoots when the barrel snaps back in place as well. Someone is gonna get a hurt real bad soon enough if care and control, while using this gun, is not observed!

If you just bought the thing then take it back, and exchange it for some pellets etc.

Yes ... dangerous ... the 3rd time it happened the pellet was ricocheting
off of heating pipes in the basement !!! ( trying to sight it in down there )
If I can find the receipt ...
ya ... that's $40 to a QB 57

We all like that one ? ...dont we ?

I bought one for fun. Looks like the sear is made up of 3 laminate pieces of (?) 0.062" steel.

I had a Geco distress flare launcher that had the hammer, at least, made in this way.

I hope mine does not go flying like in the youtube clip.

I had a night's worth of fun taking it apart and putting it back together, $40 bucks can be spent having supper in a mediocre local restaurant (all the restaurants here are mediocre).

Sold it for $20 bucks :D the 20 bucks I ate was worth the fun of taking it apart & cleaning all the crap out of it - interesting to see how it was put together.
